Once I forgot my friends birthday, but it was because both my grandmas were sick, and I had to go to the hospital a lot to visit them..and she was sooo mad.
And it technicly wasn't your birthday yet

One of my best friends always has to ask me when my birthday is, and she still doesn't remember. But I honestly don't really care, I know if I tell them I'll just get the birthday song screamed at me during lunch, so I kind of want them to forget. I know your friend made you feel bad, but maybe you should have given her a little time to correct herself. She could have just not known the day of the week it was on.

It happens. Hanging up probably wasn't that good of an idea though. You could have reminded her on the phone. I bet that she would have remembered by your birthday and told you. I wouldn't know what the other person was talking about either if they said "guess whats next Saturday", even if they were talking about my birthday.

Well first,

This could mean one of two things:

1) She was joking, didn't expect you to get mad.

2) She really did forget, but hey it could be worse.

Just call her back and explain why you got upset. My friend of 13 years, still says "your birthday is August 8th right?" And it's hard to tell if she is joking, and it makes me mad because I know her brithday. But you really just have to take your friends the way they are, everyone makes mistakes.
