I was not at all hopeful that online booking would be a benefit. I dislike the clunky navigation of the DVC Member Website (which seems to value fun graphics over utility) and thought that the online booking would likely be just as clunky. Well, I was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. It is easy to navigate and includes things like waitlist management that have been completely lacking until now. I am having a huge serving of crow for dinner.

I tried it out too. I put in VGC for 7 months (8/19) and it showed availability for all room sizes! I don't actually want to go then but just wanted to see the 7 month availability (I really want to go early October). It's nice. I was thinking about BWV for early December, studios are all gone for all views. 1 bedroom garden view was the only 1 bedroom available.

Looks good... I'm guessing you can not adjust vacations, add a day or drop a day without potentially screwing up the vacation. Definitely looks good though

I was talking to MS yesterday and he said any type of modification would have to be over the phone.


I like being able to check out the availability too. I wasn't happy to see how full Aluani is for when I wanted to go.

On the right hand side where it shows points available, the points were not there. i did not try to actually book a reservation. now i am getting a 503 service unavailable screen.

I did a real quick check for availability for OKW in Oct/November. Easy to navigate. I think the problems will come into play with banked/borrowed/transferred points.

Wonderful! It's nice to hear someone sing the praises of a Disney online system. I never would have expected it, either.

I think I'll wait until tomorrow to go play with it and see what it can do.

Borrowing points seem easy...I am guessing if you have banked points they would should as the current use year points? Anyone have banked points to look at that ? I only have some transferred points but don't see them on the computer system but it may be the best disney produced web interface I have seen....

503 Service Unavailable

Hopefully in a few days the newness will wear off and only those truly wanting to book will be using it.

Honestly unless someone plans to book; checking availability for months out that they can not yet book due to 7 month window is an exercise in futility and waste of the system.

Until one can actually book, no one is going to know for sure that a room is or isn't available.

It is no use to us whatsoever as there is no facility to book or check availability of accessible rooms and if people can book online before MS opens we have no chance of getting into popular resorts unless there is something in the system to prevent accessible accommodation showing up in searches and being bookable as a regular room.

I am waiting for a response from MS on how this is being handled but once again we feel like second class citizens as far as DVC is concerned

I really like the new Vacation Center. You can see all your reservations, and easily see the names of everyone on the reservation. You can add the dining plan online. You can view your waitlists. These are all GREAT enhancements.

There are links on the page that allow you to add celebrations, purchase park tickets, and add Magical Express reservations. While these links take you to previously existing screens, it's nice to have them on the screen.

If any Disney programmers happen to be looking through these threads for feedback, well done!

Wish special requests were visible on the reservation.

When clicking on the Add a Celebration link you have to enter your reservation number, name, and check-in date. It'd be nice if these pre-populated.
