We are currently at CSR of 10 nights for a total of $1047. I am considering moving to the CR for the last three nights as we will be spending that time at the MK and it seems like a good idea to be on a monorail resort for that. This is also the hotel I always wanted to stay at during my one visit to WDW as a child. But the rate is almost twice as much as CSR and the pool does not seem to have any theme to it So is it really worth it? I have ot decide quick as the special rates need to be booked by the 17th.

Please let me know if you think this would be worth it. I checked rates for the Garden Wing and the Tower. At this point the tower is completely out of the question.

Thanks for any input!

If your saving your MK days for when your at the CR, then I'd say go ahead and book it. I would love to stay in the tower, but, man o man, not at those prices. I've heard some people getting some nice rooms in the garden wing, pool view and such. Some people request the 1st floor so they can get a patio. CSR looks like a nice resort, but, if you can afford to go to a deluxe for a few nights than I would.

Depending on how tight the money is, I think it's worth it. My son would stay only at the Contemporary if he had his way. The rooms are so huge, and the monorail being right there is fantastic. We've only stayed in the wings so far (1st floor both times - love the ducks) and this next trip we will be spending one night at the Tower so that will be special. I would suggest at least one night there, 2 would be better and 3 would be even better. Just my opinion.

It's been very hard for me to upgrade from the moderates (which we've loved) to a deluxe. I just know myself that it would impact my enjoyment knowing I've spent $100+ more per night than I "had" to. That being said, how about cutting down the costs a bit and stay two nights at CR? You can take the bus from CSR to MK in the morning and have luggage services move your bags to CR, then just walk back to CR that afternoon and to you new room!

If you save those days for MK, and are just there for a short time, I wouldn't worry about lack of theming in the pool. If you're not in MK there is plenty to see at CR and elsewhere along the monorail line. Take the boat to WL or Fort Wilderness, take the monorail to the Poly and walk around/eat a meal, go to the CR observation deck (perhaps to see fireworks), etc.

There maybe a "lack of themeing" at the pools of cr but they are very nice pools anyway. The free form pool has several fountains, slide, and geyser fountain plus 2 large hot tubs. The "quiet" pool is round and deeper in the middle. We enjoy both pools. also there is a large sandy beach right next to the pools and a large boat marina available too. We love the cr! And I think anyone would be happy there. When ever we stay at only 1 resort I get a little "bored or tired" with it so we really like to split stays for longer trips, and the Newness of the move makes it seem like a whole new vacation.

Boy Snow Brite, I almost felt like I wrote your post. We're only going for 4 nites but staying at the Dolphin. Now I'm really thinking about moving to CR Garden Wing for the 2nd two nites because of the convenience to MK.

My dh will be attending a conference in Orlando those days and I will be taking my 3 1/2 yr old dd to MK both days myself. One morning we have PS at Cindy's and the other PS at 1900 Pk Fare. I was planning on having my dh drop us off both mornings (on the way to his conference) so we wouldn't have to spend over an hr busing and having to transfer to the monorail on the PF morning.

If the special FL rate is still available I am considering this. But, having doubts about the Garden Wing rooms. Are they REALLY far from the monorail?? What kind of shape are the rooms in? Do you have to walk outside for a good distance to get to the tower bldg? Once in is it a long way to the monorail or would we be better taking the boat, how often does it run? I'm also wondering if it would be worth walking to MK from there? Decisions, decisions.

I'm just torn if it's worth the hassle of checking out and checking in for such a short stay (actually this is a long stay for us). But, it just seems so much more convenient, in Snow Brite's case I would switch especially since you'll be there so much longer. And, funny I too always wanted to stay at CR as a child but ironically haven't had the desire to in my adult life. We've stayed at almost every other resort:) Strange or what!

We stayed at the CR three years ago in a garden wing on the first floor. It was very quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the main building, yet very close to the monorail. Our only request was "poolside, ground level" and we had a lake view (the kids loved watching the electric light parade at night). We simply exited our room to the outside pool area, walked up the stairs and into the main building directly onto the escalator which brought us up to the monorail, literally a few minutes. The beach area was quite pretty and we rented boats from there. I'm sure you could request a room "closet to main building" but it is really quick.

To answer the pool question it is only MHO, but I wouldn't choose this resort for its pool theming, to me it seemed old and in need of a major uplift (especially changing areas-unless they have updated this?). It is important to note this was my adult opinion, the kids loved it. The garden wing was a great choice as they were able to run in and out of our room to swim. I'm glad we experienced it, they will always remember the monorail running through the building. It's a good idea to save this resort until the end when you will be visiting the MK area as it is very convenient for that park. Have a good trip.
