Haven't been to one in years. There are hardly any left around here. My BF found one in Milford, NH. Anyone ever been?

We're seeing Anchorman and Spiderman 2. It's a double feature $18 per car for both movies. It will be us and 2 other people. So it breaks down to like $4.50 a person to see two first run movies! Wooohoo!!

And Monty Dog can come!

So has anyone ever been to this one? Or another one? Any Drive-In tips would be much appreciated.

omg my very first ever date was at a drive in,, want to say it was an eastwood picture,,, pale rider i think,,( really wasnt watchign the movie) we got a t ake out pizza( because my date was late getting off work that day) ate it in the car, i really dont remember even putting the speaker over in the car,, was just afew weeks later they closed that drive in down. There is an old one stil standing here in town, but cannot be reopened due to the screen facing a major high way now, would have to be completely re builtr to use the place.i used to love them, we had seveeral in south ark back in the 80;s that aer gone now.

You inspired us, we're going too. Ours has a double feature of Garfield and Spiderman 2. The kids have been whining to see both and we really want to see Spiderman so it's perfect! It'll only cost us 14.00 for the 4 of us.

Yay! I can't wait! I haven't been to a Drive-In since I was little, we saw The Rescusers.

I am not on the boards much but just happen to be this morning. We loved drive-ins!!! We took our lawn chairs and a small cooler with drinks and loved being outdoors. That is the one thing we miss since moving to Florida! Especially in the Spring and Fall when the weather is soooo nice in Tn. Been about two years now. Have fun!!!

Didn't think about lawn chairs. Good tip. We will bring some. :)

That's so cool. I have such fond memories of the drive-in my family went to when I was little. My mom would pack a picnic supper and my brothers and I would go in our PJs and lay in the back of the station wagon watching the flicks.

Have fun.

We LOVE going to the drive-in and we go at least once a summer, wish it was more often though. I used to go when I was 5 in my pajamas and with my pillow and snacks and we loved it!

We go to the drive-in in Mendon, MA on Route 16, about 30 miles from Boston.

It's $20 a car load.

Haven't gone yet this year...right now I-Robot/Dodgeball at screen one and Spiderman 2/Anchoman??(will pharell?) at theater 2.

Have a great time! I love drive-ins! Brings back happy memories of my childhoo days!

My advise is to arrive early; so you can get a good viewing spot. Hopefully you have a truck or a van for comfort; but cars are okay, too. You may even want to back into your space depending on what you're driving.

What's so nice about it is that you can byo snacks and beverages along, too. I have seen some people that have a whole little tail gate party while there! Don't forget to locate where the restrooms are located just in case you need to use it!

Most of all have fun and enjoy the movies!

I haven't been to the Milford drive-in this year but have in the past. It's a nice place with a snack building and restrooms. Bring bug spray with you and a radio if your going to sit outside in lawn chairs. Have fun.

Went to one in Atlanta a couple of years ago in July. We didn't bring chairs and just sweltered in the car. I didn't think about how hot it would be, but it was lots of fun.

We do this about twice a month all summer long. We always bring lawn chairs and Off! spray for mosquitos (a huge problem here in Oklahoma-maybe not so much in your part of the country). We also bring a few blankets to spread on the ground and a portable radio to listen to-most drive-ins broadcast by radio signal, and when we sit outside the car it's harder to hear, even with the windows down. I have kids, so I usually bake a batch of cookies and pack a cooler. We pick up a pizza or some other fast food on the way. We do buy popcorn at the the concession, though. The few drive-ins we have left make a lot of their $$ with their concessions and I don't want to lose the two I frequent. With four kids ages 6 and under, this is the only way our family can go to the movies. Have fun!:D

Glad someone already mentioned bug spray. The time we went in June it was cold for that time of year, so we didn't sit outside. Another thing if you have a truck or van it may be more comfortalbe, but at the one 25 min. from our house (The Sundance Kid in Oregon, OH) trucks, SUVs and vans are limited to the last 3 rows, another reason to get there early.
One year they had a really good kids double feature and we were turned away! They sold out!

I'm a little worried now, because we have a PT cruiser and we just tried sitting in the back (where our friends will be) and I don't think they'll be able to see :(

I grew up going to drive-in movies. My parents used to dress us in pajamas before we went so they could put us right to bed when we got home.

There aren't any left in New Jersey. :(

Our swim club shows older movies (Grease, Shrek, Star Wars, etc.) on a big screen over the main pool on Friday nights, but the weather on Friday night lately hasn't been that great. Too chilly for being in the water while the film's on.

Anyway, you and Monty, BF and your friends all have a great time. :sunny:

That should not be a problem if it is like the ones we went to.The front tires of your car are on a slight hill..little taller than a speed bump that way everyone can see. Not sure that theya re all that way but I would think so. have fun!!!!

That would be great. I hope so!! I feel better now. :)

I haven't been to one of those since I was a kid. I don't think we have one here anymore. How fun!! :)

Your drive in is expensive! Ours is, I think, $3.00 per adult and all kids are free. I love it, but DH HATES the drive in.

Sadly, there aren't any left around here.:( I remember going to the drive-in all the time when we were kids. So much fun.
