I am crushed....canceling our Sept. trip.

I have you beat. I have done this to my wife not once but twice. First time we had a anniversary trip planned and I tore my achilles tendon. Had to completely cancel the trip since surgery was to close to the trip. Fast forward 2 years and I blow up my knee (torn ACL/Meniscus) 4 weeks before another anniversary trip. She was really really mad. I tell her we are going anyway. Long story short I get surgery and 2 weeks later we go. I end up using a ECV but we have a great trip. Tell your guy to suck it up and go. :)

Oh my! I'm not sure who to feel worse for: you with the serious injuries or your poor DW! Yes, he is considering the ECV idea. I just worry still as we planned to drive so that's 7 hours in a car one way. Not so comfortable....

I am very happy for you and your family. Not only to possibly not have to deal with surgery, but to get to take your trip. I sincerely hope everything works out and your family will have a wonderful trip.

I got stuck on an ECV in December in WDW. That was new for me. It wasn't the ideal trip, but a trip to Disney on an ECV is always better than NO trip to Disney! :goodvibes

Thanks for the warm wishes and warning re: potential challenges. I hope the Sept. Crowds aren't too bad if we do end up going. We will have DH in an ECV and me pushing a double stroller! Talk about wide loads and taking up all the space on the paths. I promise I will not walk side by side with his ECV. ;)

We already planned a mid-day break for our DDs to nap but instead of my solo riding the Mountains, I'll have to go back to HoJo with them as he can't push the double stroller. That's ok, though. Being able to go to DLR at all will be so awesome....

If I remember correctly, you guys will be there the same time I will! Not stalking or anything, but you were a couple places ahead of me on the Aladdin or the Magic Morning thread. If I end up seeing you in the park, I'll help clear a path for your wide load :D

LOL! I will need to get some lime Mickey heads and attach them to both the ECV & stroller so you can recognize me.

So happy to hear It worked out and you guys are able to go now. Pixie dust all around ;)

Feel bad for my wife. I am the one to dense figure out I am to old to play Basketball anymore. She had to take care of my sorry hide everytime I got hurt.

Oh no!! This is horrible for you guys! I was soooo disappointed for all of you in your family, to read this thread. :( Prayers for a really speedy recovery for your husband after his surgery, and I hope it will still work out. We had to take about 4 or 5 days out of our trip (staying at the kids suite at Hojo's, not going to the Disneyland Parks) when my son and I were both sick - we made sure to wait until our antibiotics had kicked in to make us not contagious, until we went back to the parks. We didn't want to ruin anyone else's magical time in Disney with our illness! I think you have the right mind set and you show a great spirit for adventure by tackling this head on. You go, and have FUN and even sitting and people watching can be so great when in the parks. Good luck with everything, and please, keep us all posted! :)
