OK, Could someone explain or send me to somewhere that I can find out about 'renting' or is it 'buying' club level points?
2 separate things:
1) club level is a premium deluxe resort room with concierge service.
2) disney vacation club (DVC) is the disney timeshare - rather than sell fixed weeks, disney broke down ownership into "points." rather than hotel rooms, they are set up as villas...studios are sized like hotel rooms but only come with 1 queen bed and 1 pullout sofabed (except OKW which has 2 queens) and a kitchenette. other than that, the villas are much larger with 1,2 or 3 bedrooms, full kitchens and laundry facilities.
if you are renting DVC pts (a misnomer, you are actually renting a reservation and cannot do anything with the points themselves), there are only a handful of "club level/concierge" villas in AKV-jambo house. so it's very rare to rent DVC to stay "club level."
also, DVC pts are a good deal for staying in a villa - not for staying in a hotel room. so renting DVC to stay at BCV (beach club villas - next to epcot) makes sense...but trying to rent DVC pts to stay at the GF is foolish.
DVC is a timeshare, so housekeeping is on a very reduced schedule. and you are dealing with an individual and not disney, so don't count on a refund if you need to cancel.
here is a thread for learning more about renting DVC:
