I have had these reservations for our Cruise in April 2004 since last July. I called Disney directly, thinking that is how we would get the best price. Since I have found this board, I was messing around and thought I would plug the same dates into Dreams Ulimited to see what kind of price I can get through them...the original quote came back $250 LESS than Disney's price, PLUS I get an instant rebate of $100 and a $50 onboard credit. That is a savings of $400. So, needless to say, I am going to cancel my reservations with Disney and book through Dreams. I suggest maybe if you have reservations through Disney, and you still have time to take advantage of EBS, check the prices through Dreams Unlimited. $400 is nothing to sneeze at! :smooth:

I booked a cat 1 for 11/04 through DCL. Then I read the Unofficial Disney Guide and found five different cruise lines that give better deals. I booked through All Cruise Travel (www.allcruise.com) and saved $500.00 with the promise that if any deals come along later, they will match it. Since then, I've discovered this board and have learned all sorts of things to save money!

You don't have to cancel. Just transfer the reservation over Dreams and let them get you the lowest price. Then your room that you had already selected will stay the same. Email them for information. They will take care of you in any way they can and save you the most money possible.

I 2nd what my3kids said. Do not cancel your current resv just have DU take over your resv and then they can get the lower rate for you plus you get that great rebate. Get a hold of DU and let them know and they will let you know what you need to do to transfer that resv to them.

That's right, you don't have to cancel! We booked on board, to get the credit, and then transferred it over to dreams. We were also able to get the DU rebate.

I re-read my post and realize I was unclear. I did not cancel, but all cruise transferred my reservation for me.

After reading this post, I just tried to transfer my booking over. They said I would qualify for the 200.00 rebate but NOT for the onboard credits because Disney only offered that during the actual Booking of certain dates. I initially booked my cruise almost 2 yrs ago. Guess I'll get my onboard credit from using the Disney card.

Howdy, neighbor! I see you're in Foster City. I live in Redwood Shores... :D :D

I am confused - I read in a different thread about different prices being available - I emailed DU and got a better quote than I am currently booked with. I asked DU if I could transfer my reservations to them from my current TA and they told me that they don't accept transfers from other TAs. How can some people get away with it? Just wondering.

The transfers occur between DCL and TA's, not TA to TA. As my TA told me, it gets messy between TA to TA. If you were offerred a better deal from one TA, I would show my TA that deal and ask them to match it.

Hey MFAN...rare to see someone so close, let alone from the west coast. There is someone else who is going on our same cruise date and they live in Half Moon Bay AND her hubby went to highschool w/ my hubby, same year too! Small world after all! My sister in law lives in Redwood Shores also....

Can someone tell me if you can book just the cruise through DU? I tried to book my whole package with 4 day WDW stay - flight - tranportation and DC and it was more $$ through DU?
Thanks for the information....

Lisa

Lisa, yes, you can book the cruise only through DU.

And just to clarify a few other things, as a matter of professional courtesy Dreams cannot accept reservations made with another agency. They CAN accept transfers of reservations made directly with DCL. For more information you can e-mail webmaster@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com .

For the current SHIPBOARD CREDIT promotion the cruise must be BOOKED during the promotion dates. Also, DCL will not allow multiple shipboard credits now, so if you have the Castaway Club, first-time cruiser, Disney Club or Disney VISA credit you would not be eligible for additional credits.

Hope that helps! :)

Yes, you can book a cruise only through DU!

Michelle,
What is a first-time cruiser credit?

Michelle,

Thanks for the info! I will call or email DU - what is the first time cruise credit?? I did not get one when I did my own reservation through DCL??
Is the $50 credit prmo still going on??
Thanks a million!
Lisa

The first-time cruiser credit is a referral code that you get from a postcard from those who have sailed before. :)

Thank you! I called DCL tonight and asked them about the credit :) The told me there was not a promotion in place for 2004 yet but that I should try to call back towards the end of the year to see if it's in effect yet.
