and...I am approved!!! It is pending income verification but I am notworried about that!

Now its just picking SSR or OKW!

We love both resorts, but if you want to stay at the THVs at SSR it will be a huge advantage if you are SSR owners.

I will be honest...SR was my first choice until my honey mentioned wanting home to be tropical...the MFs are a bit more but there are no closing costs on OKW right now and the monthly payment will be lower.

The THV's ARE a huge advantage with SSR but we wouldnt be needing anything that big only on special occasions and I guess we would have to hope to get it at the 7 mo window.

I know SSR is newer and closer to DTD (which is a big thing for my son) but it is only a nice boatride away from OKW...and again the laid back lush tropics of home is whats important to us. My concern is I have never been to either and I am praying I am making the right choice....but honestly, is there a wrong one here?

If you haven't stayed/seen either go to yahoo images, and find as many pictures as you can. They are both a little different. BOTH wonderful, but for diff reasons.

You will be happy with either! 100000%

Based on above.. I think you will be happier up front with OKW.. In the end with OKW will cost you more, but you will get more nights for it. IE MF are more, but a night might be 5 points less than SSR so over a week say during magic time it is alot.

We enjoyed our two stays at OKW but SSR is our home. WE love the closeness to DTD. Not that OKW is that far but it is nice to walk over from SSR and I love looking over from DTD at SSR. Also, like others pointed out....the tree houses are another PLUS!!! Plus SSR is getting a new LARGER theme pool. We love SSR.

I think if the island feel is important I would go with OKW. I have heard nothing but rave reviews of it. I have never stayed here but it is on my list after talking to several owners at the Long Island DTD.

I have stayed at SSR and while it is a very nice resort. It was the least Disney to all of the ones I have stayed at. A plus of SSR was it felt very luxiourious (sp?)

I don't think you can go wrong with either resort.

The only fault I can think of for OKW is that not all of the buildings have elevators.

Per DVCNews.com -The only buildings with elevators are 62, 63, and 64, all in the Miller's Road area.

But the best views are on the upper floors. That means you have to lug all of your stuff up the stairs. We usually drive so that means we would be carrying everything. But maybe the extra large villas will make up for the stairs.

Personally I'd pick SSR for access to THVs and DTD either by boat or walking. I also like SSRs open spaces. I find it relaxing with lots of areas for walks.
