Right now I have 56 points left in my Dec 2016 UY that will be able to be banked.. So I will need to bank those before my banking window closes in 2017 (July I think). Those points will then be treated as Dec 2017 UY points meaning they will need to be used by the end of November, 2018 correct?

Yes, those December UY's require a lot more thought.

For a December UY, you are currently in your 2015, so yes, you have 14+ more months before your 2016 banking window.

Yea, I really do like my UY, but I always have to really think it thru and look at a calendar, and then still question myself haha

I have a Dec u/y too and it is very confusing.

I have a Sept UY and due to last minute changes which resulted in have 5 extra 2016 points, I banked the points into UY 2017. Yep I prematurely jumped the gun and was 1 year early!! No harm to our long range plans, but yes, having a fall UY contract does make you need to use your hands and toes to properly count out your banking window.
