I already paid for CRT and HDD but now adding Dining plan

will I get refunded for the cash payments now or at the time we go to the event? I have heard conflicting stories

after you add the DDP you can call and have the DDP credits applied to these ADRS and have the money credited back to your credit card. Problem is that that if you get a CM that doesn't know what they are doing you could lose the ADRs. Doesn't happen often but there have been posts here from people who lost the ADR.

I was in the same situation in 2013 with CRT and after being up at 6AM to make the ADR was not going to risk losing it, it was a surprise for my girls and my nieces so I waited and had the charge put back on my credit card the day we ate there.

I am not able to get refunds until we arrive at the restaurants....if you do it now...you have to rebook. not doing that as I would lose them. so its ok..extra cash on vacation

That happened to me last year.. I paid for CRT and then got free dining. I call Disney, the money was returned to my card within 3 days, and they used the free dining to secure the reservation... It did not change or cancel my ADR.

i just called yestarday for same thing for crt. got refunded now and now reservation reflects ddp

I know it is possible, but after hearing too many horror stories, I opted to wait and get refunded at the restaurants (or, in HDDR's case, the ticket window outside the theater). HDDR particularly worried me because seat assignments are based on date of reservation. If a CM canceled and re-booked, that would have bounced us down the reservation list and I want to sit as near the front of the Category 1 seating as possible.
