I admit, I did what I said I would never do...

...and I am so glad I did! :)

In 03 I dined at Le Cellier and liked it, didn’t love it, but it was a good meal. In 04 I tried Yachtsman Steakhouse for the first time and was WOWed by it. If anyone has ever seen my posts since then you would know I always rave about YSH, and say I wouldn’t go back to Le Cellier after dining at YSH.

Well, after dining at YSH last summer with no more prime rib and no more horseradish potatoes(my 2 favorite items on the menu), and the spinach wasn't as creamy as it had been in the past, I wasn't as WOWed by it anymore. When planning our recent trip I knew we were doing Ca Grill on our anniversary, so I was trying to stay away from another signature meal. Seeing how Le Cellier is one of the very few restaurants that offers prime rib, which is my favorite cut of beef, I decided to give it another shot.

We almost didn’t make it as we originally booked for 2, but then Grandma who was supposed to come along and watch the kids that night cancelled so we had to add our 2 kids to our party, which was impossible in the months leading up to the trip. We were able to walk up to the podium earlier that day and ask if we could add 2. They accommodated us no problem.

Upon dining we were more than happy with the meal and service. Everything was wonderful! The only thing I would say I prefer at YSH now is the rolls and garlic over the pretzel bread at Le Cellier, but that’s not what I choose a steakhouse on.

So, I have to retract my years of saying Le Cellier doesn’t hold a candle to YSH in that never ending "which is better" question. I was wrong and I would definitely go back to Le Cellier, probably before YSH again(unless they bring back the prime rib).:goodvibes

So glad to hear! I booked my DH and MIL there for a "mother-son" meal away from the rest of the family during our trip! I was just starting to reconsider, but you've changed my mind. I'll keep it for them! I hope they enjoy some time together to catch up (without the kids(grandkids) and in-laws (my folks) around!)

Happy travels!

I love Le Cellier.. MMMMm I hope to be able to get a reservation there before our trip in December.

Different strokes for different folks! I'm so glad you had a good experience, and a little jealous - last Tuesday we were served the worst piece of meat I've ever seen in a restaurant. The rest of the food wasn't good, either.

The service, however, was splendid (as it's been every time I've been to LC)!

I missed you by 1 day, hoverpumpkin. We were there Monday. :)

I think this is the perfect example of how a review is based on 1 single experience and everyone should try what they are interested in. :goodvibes

Another change I found, that I forgot to mention is they now have a full bar. Back on 03 it was only beer & wine, but this time I was able to get a mixed drink.

have tried dunking the pretzel breadsticks into the cheese soup - absolutely yummy. I get a double order of this as my full meal! (Hubby likes steak but me? Not so much)

I LOVE doing this, I always get extra Pretzel bread to do this too....I could make a meal out of just that.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Le Cellier, everything about the restaurant is awesome. We are trying out Yachtsman's Steakhouse for the first time in September, I am hoping that it will be as good as everyone says it is. We are on the DxDDP for the first time so we are doing a lot more Signature restaurants, and YSH has always been on our to do list but have never made it there.

Went to YSH in May and there is no longer a scallop appetizer either! Also, the worst service of any of the signature restaurants we visited.
