Here's my original message...

We have been frequent guests at Ft. Wilderness since 1974. We have
noticed a tremendous decrease in not only the selection of, but the
quality of the food served at the Breakfast Buffet and Dinner Buffet at
Trails End.
Due to the fact that we are well acquainted with the Orlando area, we
choose to go off property when we wish to have a meal. A Food Court is
long overdue at Ft. Wilderness - not the super-sized sites.
Unfortunately, I feel certain this will fall on deaf ears and that Ft.
Wilderness will continue to be the "red-headed step child" of the Disney
resorts. Too bad, when people pay as much for a cabin as they would the
Poly or Contemporary, and they don't realize they are being treated so
poorly in comparison to the other resorts.

Here's the reply....

Dear Ms. Smith,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

I am very sorry for your disappointment with the dining options
available at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. When we
receive comments from Guests, such as yours, they are shared with
various areas of our organization. This allows us to identify what we
are doing right, and what we can do better. You may be assured that
your observations have been shared and taken seriously.

If you should wish to discuss your comments further you may call me at
407-560-3412. If I am not immediately available when you call, please
leave your telephone number and an indication of the best time to reach
you.

Ms. Smith, thank you again for taking the time to share your honest and
constructive feedback. We hope to have future opportunities to entertain
you at our Resort.

Sincerely,

Marlana

Okay everyone.....if you would like a food court at the Fort....barrage them with e-mails!!

I just used the "Contact Us" link off the main Disney website.

Wow, That's a really sincere sounding response from them. I hope you've called her back and talked to her in person--I'm surprised she gave you what appears to be her direct phone number! She may be getting more than just a barage of e-mails....

I'll wait on my comments to corporate until after I get back home,;)

Make sure you give them a number where they CAN reach you. They will call back and talk to you. They did for me and it worked. Please let us know how the conversation goes when it happens.

I don't see the need to call her - although I found her willingness to share a contact number very encouraging. My e-mail pretty much said it all. Now, if enough people express a desire for a food court, either in addition to or in place of Trail's End, we might just get one. The squeaky wheel gets the oil - or the growling stomach's of guests gets the food court!!!

ETA: My original e-mail had my address & phone number in the signature - I left it off on the board for obvious reasons!! (lol)
Send those e-mail's, folks!!!

Did you not want your number on here? Ooooops, sorry but I kinda wrote it on the bathroom at Pioneer Hall. Oh and a few other places.:lmao:

Don't kill me Debbie, tomorrow's my birthday.

Hey, great letter. Here is one I received from Disney re. the condition of the 1900 loop a couple of years ago:

And here's one I got when I complained about the parking in the overflow lot:

And here's one - oh never mind, just pulling your chain, Deb. Isn't copy and paste a great feature?:lmao:

It's okay Jim....growing up as Al's little sister well prepared me for chain pulling!:thumbsup2

You had me going for a second, as the last 2 years of my career at Verizon was spent answering customer e-mail and I thought "hmmmmm, maybe that was a "cut & paste" standard answer like I used to use" :confused3 . You are damned funny, though! ;)

But we did and do need the super sized sites more than food at this point.:confused3 Can't eat the food if you can't camp.

Of course, once they are done with the sites and pool then they can work on the food but uze got to have priorities. :thumbsup2

Eventually, we need to convince them to so something with Bird Island with regards to a Restaurant and Bar. Now we're talkin'!:cool1:

But do we need super-sized food??? Super-sized kungaloosh, perhaps, margarita's too.

I still like the idea of having a restaurant and bar on the old Discovery Island. Perhaps 4 themed places?

1) Wild West Saloon with brew & burgers.

2) Wine and cheese bar.

3) Contemporary Disco-esque Place

4) Barefoot Beach Bar with bar food.

That would just about cover everyone.

I'll write to them for that! :dance3:

Debbie for President!

With a cabinet full of drunken otters driving golf carts, of course. :cool1:

Wow,

Marlana is still there. Way back in 2000 I sent a snail mail letter complimenting a CM, and she called me and sent me a nice autograped picture of the Fab Five.
