For those of you that are traveling southbound I-5...

We left Reno at about 7:30 this morning. Arrived in Burbank, the first portion of our trip (visiting family), at 3:30. The traffic was pretty light the entire way, the construction only minimally slowed the flow. Hit some more slowing just after Santa Clarita, but nothing horrid. Totally recommend traveling on Saturday! Easiest, most chill trip ever.

Into Disneyland tomorrow! 6 days if we can add a day to our guest's hopper.

So we are planning a drive to Hollywood and then Santa Monica next Friday, now I'm wondering if Saturday isn't a better day to do this?
:car:
Let us know if you are able to add your extra day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we will be able to add onto our 5 day pass. Have a great trip :)
I know, isn't it amazing that Disney is intentionally making it more difficult for us to stay an extra day and GIVE MORE OF OUR MONEY TO DISNEY? I really don't understand this.
:sad2:

I've seen people ask about the construction around Buttonwillow on 5. We just drove down on a Saturday and went through around 11am. We only slowed a little but it didn't take long to get through. Coming back up, we drove through last Monday around 11am again. Same thing, slowed a tad but it certainly didn't add anything to our overall drive time. For us, if we had taken another route, it would have taken a lot longer.

Has anyone done this drive within the last week or two? We're coming from San Jose and I'm wondering if we should cut over to 99 and get back on I-5 just before the Grapevine. :confused3
