Are there times of the day/eve/night that you should try to avoid I4? It looks as if we will be hitting it about 6:00pm on a friday to check in to a hotel off exit 75b (the first exit I think). Would we be better off waiting a bit later in the evening?

I'm assuming you're coming from the Beeline?

Honestly, that section of I-4 shouldn't be a problem, even at 6pm on a Friday. You'd have more problems if you needed to get through downtown.

Pam we are driving down from Indiana so we will be taking the turnpike to I4. I can remember a few years ago driving in and I think it was around 6 and it was bumper to bumper for a good hour. However, we had to drive a little more west on I4 because we stayed at a hotel on 192. This time we are staying off of Kirkman. Hopefully less traffic?

Thanks! Paula

Ah....okay. I thought you were coming from the airport.

So, assuming you are taking the turnpike all the way to I-4, you'll be heading west on I-4 about 1 or 2 exits to get to Kirkman. Typically, the traffic heading westbound is really ugly around downtown (which will be east of where you'll get on the highway) and then it tends to bunch up again when you get closer to the the Disney exits (west of where you'll be going). Unless there is an accident, you really shouldn't hit any back-ups. And if you do, you don't have far to travel so it shouldn't be too long of a wait.

Good luck with the drive and have an awesome holiday!
