I-4 Pile Up

The sad part is the fire was part of a "controlled burn" that got out of control.

My question is why are they doing "contolled burns" when we haven't had rain in weeks, and just had a major frost causing everything to die.

I'm sure there will be MAJOR law suites over this one!

Yes, this is a dreadful tragedy. People have lost their lives. The smoke was (is still?) so thick (as seen on the local newscast) that the report had to stand within 3 feet of the camera. It looks like snow on the ground (from the air views).

Doing a controlled burn right now does seem irresponsible at best. :guilty:

Only one of the 4 casualties had been identified when I left for work today. A CM from AK who worked in maintenance. :sad1:

This is only about 10-15 miles from my house, and I am VERY glad I don't have to drive that way.

We finally got in touch with a friend of ours that lives in Lakeland. She works at the hospital. As you can imagine they were very busy. We were a bit worried when we couldnt get in touch with her. My heart goes out to the families of all of the victims. We had a similar thing happen here in Tn years ago due to fog. It took months for everything to get back to normal. Even after a year, they were still investigating so there was still some wreckage on the side of I-75.
