USA Today ups price

Largest circulation paper to raise single-copy price to 75 cents from 50 cents in September.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - USA Today, the nation's best selling newspaper, is raising the single-copy price of the paper to 75 cents from 50 cents, the paper announced in its Wednesday edition.

Money boy …I too went the cheap route once…there was a guy here at work that would do his duty like clockwork every morning. Guess what..he was a USA Today reader. I would wait until the appropriate time and go in after him for my prize..today’s copy of USA Today. (hey 50 cents is 50 cents) You could tell he was a pro he would leave the paper in tact not like some people who find it necessary to spread all of the sections out all over the floor. (yuck!)

I figured if I got it fast enough germs would not have time to accumulate on it. It would just have the one guy’s germs. (and he looked like a clean guy)

The smell ..yes there were some days when I took my life into my hands…I learned not to go in after long 3 day weekends..this guy liked his food.

A lot of people are embarrassed to walk into a bathroom with no reading material and come out with reading material in hand. I solved this by bringing a copy of yesterdays USD Today in with me..and doing “the switch”. I walk out like nothing ever happened.(sweet!)

MB – doesn’t the hotel logo that is stamped on the lobby paper give you away?

Our HOSPITAL recently started providing this to our patients -- sort of like hotel service, I guess.

Wonder if they are going to increase the hospital charges to cover this?

they'll either increase costs to patients, or decrease pay to staff...

I love USA today! Somewhere in the bowels of my basement I have the very first issue encased in a silver pouch. It was some kind of a commemorative gift given to me by an ad agency that I interviewed at many years ago. I wonder if it's worth keeping onto.
