Hypothetical situation with Magical Express

The times we cleared Customs there the agent said please put all your checked bags onto the moving belt and was serious about that.

That is what one is required to do...

Personally, I avoid getting into any type of disagreement with Immigration and Customs officials. They can make life very difficult. (of course, at my home airport the Immigration officials know me very very well, but that is another story!)

I have seen that page before on the MCO website and they correct about their information. What they don't list is that some Airlines coming from Canada (Air Canada and WestJet) guests don't clear Customs at MCO, however I guess they list it like that to be technical since it is for all International passengers arriving and not just Canadian passengers.

I looked at the link. It looks like international passenger have to go through TSA screening when the enter the main terminal. Checked bags, that are small enough to be carry on, could probably be taken on the tram but I guess bigger bags have to be screened.

Your are 100% correct about that. Before my family and I were able to walk towards the tram, we had to go threw one last TSA screeing process which was in a corner just before you walk out to the 1st terminal.

I personally thought what is the point of going threw that since we went threw screeing back in Toronto, then cleared Customs in Orlando and even opened our checked bags just before putting them on the 2nd belt and our carry on bags in the Customs terminal, so obviously they thought it was ok to let my family and I go threw. Oh well they have it for a reason and I would never argue with them about it.

There is something in the works for the international passengers. It was covered in the January board meeting. Designs are being reworked and it is possible that within the next two years the luggage will be picked up and taken out right after clearance. I am sorry that I didn't pay much attention to what it actually was. However, I will ask a few questions and maybe can find out the specifics on the improvements.

Well I sure hope that in 2 years or whenever that MCO changes the process for international passengers, because it would save a lot of time not having to pick up checked bags at 2 different locations. Anyway if you can find out anymore info great, if not no big deal since my family and I clear Customs in Toronto and not in Orlando.

Edd made a gracious offer to assist posters, not just the OP. Remember, there are MANY international readers/posters here, including a very large contingent from the UK. I am sure that they would appreciate any information Edd posts in regards to this

Thank you Edd, from an international traveller
