Hypothetical question re the 11/7 month windows

So, my home resort is AKV. My friend's home resort is BLT. If we each want to stay at the other's home resorts, can he use his points to make a reservation in my name at 11 months, and can I use my points to make a reservation in his? I have several friends who are DVC members, so I just wondered whether this is possible.

And, let's say I don't know anyone whose home resort is in Hawaii or California, but I want to make reservations at the 11 month mark there. Has anyone just done a trade like that through the boards? I suppose you would have to put trust in the other person if you don't know them, of course.

Again, I have no plans for this- just wondered if it is a possibility. Thanks.

Yes, you can make reservations in your friends' names, & they can in yours. Every so often there's a thread asking about this. I do not know if you can use the rent trade board to find a buddy willing to trade with you.
