Hypothetical Boardwalk Tower

Disney must want to do something with the empty JellyRolls and Atlantic Dance Hall together.
Big River may have to remain in its current format due to its location below BWV.
Well, you've made me think of something else. I've read that the brewery can't serve fried foods due to its location beneath guest rooms (grease and smells rising from kitchen), which makes it unsuitable for a QS. Between the brewery and JellyRolls is/was a DVC sales center. They could convert brewery space to retail or some other non-dining use and create new dining (QS and TS) in the new tower. That would solve one problem.

Never went to JellyRolls, Atlantic Dance Hall, or Brewery so this is news to me.
I am curious to see what can be done below the BWV rooms.
Sounds like the Hall can be converted to something else.

The options are essentially:
Remove the conference center
Remove a parking lot

They could build it where the Tennis Court is today and then take the other parking lot and make it multi-level to keep the capacity.

I still think the best option is upgrade Aruba to another DVC resort next to Riviera and then put in a walking bridge to a new private entrance that goes through Africa retheming that area to a "world" theme version of Mainstreet. Riviera is close to that Africa pavilion than Boardwalk is to Epcot.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The tennis court area is my favorite area of BWV. There is already very limited parking. We already lost a nice chunk of parking due to the ugly turnaround for the skyliner. I have many other thoughts but I don't want to suggest any ideas that might impact my home resort. Never know who is listening and looking for ideas to ruin stuff.

What about parking for this new tower? I haven't driven a car to the crescent lake resorts yet...is there adequate parking there for not only the existing rooms, but an extra, say, 250 villas?

No.

Yes!!!! Love the idea of a Tower at crescent lake. The Dance Hall location at Boardwalk would offer views of TWO theme parks so DVC could market TPV with twice as many rooms (would Swan block view of DHS from Dance Hall Tower?); even the standard 'resort' view rooms would have a crescent lake view! No bad choices!!! Man, I like this even better than my BCV Tower fantasy with an Epcot view....

We had an Epcot view and view of fireworks from the back rooms at BCV. Then they let the trees grow too tall.

Unless you are talking about BCV at BWV there isn't anything they can do. They can't just add extra floors to an existing structure, they can't just shut down sections of BWV to rebuild it taller, and I am doubtful they would be allowed to fill in the lake as Marriot likely has a contract with Disney about the boat access or walking access.

Looking at a map there just isn't space outside the parking lot/tennis areas. Even the parking lots you are not moving the skyliner so you are dealing with limited options there.

This got me thinking again. I know people talked about it before but a Yacht Club DVC seems like it would be the next step after RIV sells out or is about to sell out.

If they released a new 50 year contract that you can walk to Epcot/HS from I would possibly sell my BWV and RIV contracts for it honestly.

I’m in. Can we get a club level?

As others have said, there's just not enough real estate to build a tower in the Jellyrolls/Atlantic Dance Hall footprint without impacting existing DVC villas. Plus, it would impact the canal and regardless of how any of us feel about the Swolphin, I highly doubt Disney wants to lose the boat traffic between Epcot, the Crescent Lake resorts, and HS.

If it were up to me, I'd build it on the existing BCV parking lot, moving guest parking across Epcot Resorts Blvd (or more sensibly re-routing the road), close to where CM parking already is. It keeps the new tower out of any existing sight lines, you lose no existing facilities, and it's tucked well inside the Epcot bubble. Of course, it would absolutely HAVE to have it's own dining and quick service facilities and other infrastructure.

Red rectangle is the new tower; yellow rectangle is relocated parking. Locations and orientation are just generalized. Tower could be rotated, parking could be closer to the tower, etc. Road re-alignment is just illustrative as well.

Can we just shove it here so I am closer to Epcot, B&C, and the lake while still rerouting the road and expanding parking? I am sold!

I'd hate to see that points chart considering AKV CL is more than VGF resort view, but I would buy it :rotfl:

I posted recently and they talked about the $150 per night add on at WL. I could see doing that for big milestones even if CL wasn't a category for booking.
