Hyperventilated!

We are required to run 12 minutes, every three to six weeks, and run for the majority of it. Generally, a person who runs the track (made with cones xD) should have about 40-ish.

I can't do pushups, I do one and then fall on the floor and pretend to do more.

I adore crunches/sit ups. Easy if you put your legs a proper length away from you.

i feel your pain. every other vball practice or so, i get really dizzy and have to sit down then my throat tightens up and i cant breathe and i get really cold when i should be really warm from sweating and working out. my mom is trying to get me into the doctors tomorrow so we'll see if im functioning wrong or something. ;) lol.

i hope you and your mom get things straightened out. why would the nurse not let you call your mom? at my old school, if we coughed, we had to call our parents. weird, i know. but hopefully things work out for you and you wont have to experience that tragic moment again.:wizard:

I'm out of shape, I know that. I'm skinny, but I'm not in shape for doing sports. I have low stamina and such. I don't participate much in gym anyways.
I need to live in a place where it doesn't freeze over completely in the winter. I get most of my exercise in the summer and spring. I'm able to enjoy walks, and such. Winter, is spent indoors. Over winter break I went an entire week indoors, not going out for anything.

Are you sure you're not my long lost sister or something? My stamina is about as low as it gets. It's almost sad. We don't have gym at my school, but at my old school we did. Nurses don't let you call home. My friend broke her leg during gym, she couldnt call home, and the teacher made her still participate.

Running a mile in under 9 minutes is not impossible, I usually get just under 8 minutes, and I have work-induced asthma! There are girls in my class who could do it in just over 5 and a half minutes.

As for making up gym classes during free blocks... I wish that was the case at our school! Only the seniors are allowed to apply for free blocks, and in any case, we have to make up the class with 72 minutes of workout in the weight room. We have the privlege to make up the class, with a valid note excusing our absense- otherwise we would get a zero for that gym class.

Well I did go to the doctor today. He ran some tests and when they get back he'll no for sure. But yeah he does think I have asthma. He gave me a note in to which I can not participate in any sports or PE til the tests come beack. I was supposed to have a basketball game tonight but I am just going to go and watch....

I know I play a lot of different sports.

My god, that school sounds awful. If my gym teacher told me I had to participate on a broken leg, I'd just hop out of the school on one leg and back home. I could make it.

eh i'm not the skinniest. or the fastest. but i do actually do pretty good at gym. i'm very athletic (says the girl herself) and i have pretty good hand eye coordination so i can do pretty much anything in gym.

and i don't even try to say i can run a mile in under a minute. but i did shave like a minute off my time. i got 8:49. which is like the best i've ever gotten. but i was like the second to last person to finish. so i guess our town is pretty athletic.

but yeah that kinda sucks for the girl who broke her leg but still had to participate?? our gym classes are fun. and if you hurt yourself and need to rest their okay with that. and they don't overexerte you. like some of your guys stories.

Well my fastest speed is 9:25. I have previously worked really hard to shave off my time, but I an't do it. I am one of the fastest runners in my school, so I guess our school's pretty unathletic, but actually I think our mile is longer! ;)

We have to be visually or obviously hurt or sick to sit out of practice. But it's not PE . I try to enjoy volleyball as much as I can becasue I will not be playing next year... Too many classes to do! Sooo..... well yeah I really hope it's not asthma. That'll ruin the rest of my year about sports...

If you take your puffer, and don't over-exert yourself, you will probably still be able to play sports. I wouldn't worry about it too much if it turns out to be asthma, except if its a really severe case that could result in fatal attacks.

Most of the time though, those severe cases are diagnosed at a very early age. If you take your regular puffer, and your puffer for emergencies, when you need them, you should be fine :)

Leave it to Jenny to make a serious post sound funny. If it makes you stop ruining your carpet I'll say inhaler next time. :rotfl:

Hmm, now that I think about it... puffer is sort of a funny word :lmao:
