Thanks! You know I am still amazed by what they can do. Here's a photo of a reconstruction similar to mine.

Darn, I missed it! I am actually very curious what it's going to look like, because fipple skin is just so different from the surrounding tissue! It's a different color, different texture, is sort of harder and wrinkly... Or is that just mine?

I just can't picture a manufactured one. Not that I want to see Allison's! Just a generic one... Am I making any sense???

I know this is kind of a weird thought, but you know that 1 in 7 women will get breast cancer at some point in their lives. I often think that means that odds are one of the other Hyenas will also get breast cancer. I know it's not a good thought and why it crosses my mind I don't know, but it does. Same thing when I'm out and about and see a group of ladies together. I'm always thinking I wonder which one out of that group will get breast cancer. When we were at Qwest Field for the Supercross and they said that the seating capacity was 72,000, I looked around and thought that means that if this stadium was filled with women over 10,000 of them will get breast cancer someday.

I always think like that too. When I was a teenager there was a statistic that 1:4 women will be raped. I was completely floored, that is a huge number! So whenever there's a large group of women I wonder, "Who has been raped? How do you recover from something like that and carry on?"

A good friend of mine was molested as a child, as were her siblings. I don't remember if she said any of them had counseling for it, but my friend has had counseling for other issues as an adult. I don't believe either of her siblings has, however; and I know at least one of them has issues today that go back to their childhood, it's very sad.

So I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put a photo in my siggie or keep putting quotes. Does anyone read my quotes? and if so should I put funny ones, serious ones, motivational, mix them up??

I adore the quotes! I like them regardless of "theme", so I guess I prefer a mix, though the ones that make me laugh are my favorites.

OMG, that just reminded me of the "happiest birthday" photos from the first hyena meet. I kept seeing this teenage girl in all the photos and was wondering who the heck she was, then somebody told me it was Dizzy!

And I used to go out and about with the little neighbor kids when I was babysitting them (took them to HS sports events, to the mall) and sometimes I would get the dirtiest looks from people! It took me awhile to realize they thought I was a teenage mother. I wanted to shout after them, "I'm their babysitter, you nitwit!"

So... d'you suppose people give Dizzy dirty looks? That would seriously suck!

I dunno... Her DD is a little pixie of a thing, maybe she won't ever be taller than Dizzy. Hopefully Dizzy's son will, though!

You know that 5'10" is average for a male, right? I don't think you're that tall, are you?

And in case you were curious, 5'6" is average for a female. That's me, Average Girl. DH insists he is 5'10 1/2", however, so he is Above Average.

ONLY 5'10" ?????? No, I am 5'8".. Dh is around 6'1"... Alex's dad was like 6'5" though. So I think once he hits his teen years, and starts growing... he will be taller then me for sure. Most likely taller then dh.

I always wondered how kids in the same family (same gene pool) could have such a variety in something like height.

Did she hit puberty early? I think I read somewhere about girls who have some sort of pituitary problem and hit puberty super early (like at 7), they treat them with hormones or something to hold off puberty, because it can affect their growth.

My DSis had this huge growth spurt around 8yo and was taller than me (I'm almost 2 years older), then hit puberty at 9, and basically didn't grow anymore. I had a more typical ("average") puberty at age 12, so had a few more years to grow than she did.

J is taller than both of us now.

E and I are short people, my family is short to average, his sibs and mom are average.. E's grandfather was over 6 ft tall-- apparently J got more of those genes.
