Hi all,

Only 1 thing outstanding for our Easter 2008 holiday.
We always book the Hyatt MCO airport just the 1 night for Josh's benefit, he is exhausted when we arrive and there have been 1 or 2 occasion's where he has had a bad reaction to the long flight.

Problem is next March the price is over $400 off Hyatt website!

Already costing us a mint with Omni villa prices, private villa, PE upgrades etc

If we can't get any cheaper for the Hyatt we will just have to pay it, have shopped around but cannot see anything - anyone know any 'secret' websites where I can see if I can get a cheaper rate?

Hi Tim,

We have checked on Expedia but 'no rooms available' etc on the date in question, 14th March.
Guess they only have a limited allocation, quite often we check hotels on here there aren't any available on certain dates.

Johnny - give Priceline a go. It's easy to guarantee you'll get Hyatt MCO - it's the only airport hotel which doesn't have "shuttle" as one of the facilities (for obvious reasons :teeth: ).

Already have tried Deb, still over $400 - in fact everywhere I try seems to come back with the same price as the Hyatt website.

Cost us less than $200 to stay here last year, knew it was a bad idea going Easter time (never again).

It is a nice hotel, but should never be as much as that - Omni villas is extremely expensive but don't mind paying that as it looks a fantastic place to stay, and will be great for posing in my Tommy Bahama shirts!!
The whole cost is just getting out of control, with upgrading to PE also - at least the fly drive prices were cheap, going the day before the Easter price hike plus our private villa is a bargain as we have stayed at the 5 bedroomed home before.

Josh as you know was ill last year on the plane, so staying at Hyatt MCO was a relief, not having to leave the airport was a big plus - he was sat on the bed with his portable DVD player and some toast not too long after we landed.

Not to worry we have saved in some areas, at least with PE and the Hyatt we know Josh should be fine.

Johnny -

I would feel pretty confident that the rates will come down nearer the time. Personally, I would book directly with the Hyatt now on a flexible no-cancellation-fee rate and then cancel the booking and re-book on to a cheaper rate when (if?) the price comes down.

I know a lot of US hotels which are expensive when booking so far out. The only website prices this far out are likely to be the "rack rates" so give it a few more months and I feel quite sure a lower rate will be introduced.

Hi Johnny

What date in particular are you looking for (in case I have further inspiration... :) ).

Hi Johnny,
Who are you flying with?
We are flying with virgin and have got the Hyatt this August for £60.00.
We have only used them for our flights and arranged everything ourselves but because we used them for our flights we were able to use them just for the one night.
Might this work for you whoever you have booked your flight with?
:confused3 Long shot I know but worth a try.
Good luck and let us know how you get on

Hi,

We booked a fly-drive with Virgin and are sorting out all our accomodation seperate, like we always do.

I think it's just down to the time of year we are going, we paid a lot less to stay there last August also.
Everywhere we have tried the price is over $400 including taxes etc

It's not a budget issue as such, just didn't expect it to be so expensive - our Omni resort villa booking is significantly more expensive than it would be at other times of the year too.

At least we will be in the room and settled down quickly, very important for Joshua after the long flight.

Back to summer holidays after next year, thankfully.

Is it possible to change the flights and come back a couple of days later?
You might save enough on the hotel to cover some of the cost of the extra days?

Hi Johnny

What rate were you getting with www.travelsupermarket.com ?

I have tried it just now with your date (14/03/08 for one night, for 1 room for 3 people) at it is coming back with £111.82 for a room at the MCO Hyatt (including tax, excluding breakast - standard double room + extra bed).

£111.82 for a room seems like an excellent rate for that hotel at that time of year...

Thanks Alice - you are a star! :thumbsup2

Was £114 through Airline Network, I did check travelsupermarket the other day but obviously must have been a muppet and doing something wrong.

Thanks again.

Great - good that you can have some "peace of mind" regarding your trip next Easter.

It is always a pleasure to help :).

Best Wishes,
Alice
