After pricing out a four night March stay at the DL Hotel we are headed to the HR Anaheim. Please give me as much info as possible for this hotel and how transportation works to DL, ie frequency, location of drop off, etc.

We are saving thousands by staying here in a two bed two bath suite

We liked the Hyatt Regency and appreciate the modern style that the Hyatt's embody. The room size was not ideal but doable but everything was clean and new. There is a shuttle that takes you to the park and picks you up. It is a shuttle van and not extremely large. There was one time in which not everyone fit and they had to wait for the shuttle to come back. They have a designated waiting area which keeps people in a line instead of people cutting ahead to get on first.

Are you talking about the Hyatt Orange County?

If so, I think you will be happy with your selection. Are you getting a 2 bedroom queen suite? It is a ton of room - essentially two full sized hotel rooms (with bathroom, TV, etc.) and a parlor in between. Better than adjoining rooms since you have the parlor (with another TV, desk, sitting area) and also there is only one door that opens into the hallway - nice if you have kids with you.

If you want to know all the info, the best thing to do is to spend a half an hour reading Trip Advisor reviews - you will get tons of info that way. I'll give you the summary, though. The hotel is super clean, light and modern. Just remodeled a few years ago. Great service. Very comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, great housekeeping. The pool is not super exciting (a la HoJo or DLH) but clean. Full service Starbucks in the lobby. The restaurant is pretty good and they frequently offer kids eat free for lunch and dinner - check out their website or maybe google and see if you can find a voucher. There is a Target across the street so you can stock up on bottled water, sunscreen, whatever.

The shuttle is every half hour, super reliable. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the parks. It does sometimes pick up at the Crowne Plaza across the street, but always stops at Hyatt first, so it will never blow by you already full. The drop off/pick up is at the shuttle drop off area just off Harbor - a short walk to DTD or the esplanade. One note about the shuttle - there will be a long line of people waiting just after fireworks are over. I would suggest either watching the fireworks from the end of Main Street near the entrance to DL and then fleeing immediately when fireworks are over (so that you will be first in line), or staying in the parks another 30-45 minutes after fireworks are over and the crowds have died down.

Hope that helps some - we have really enjoyed our stays at the Hyatt OC!

Yes we are staying in a 2 queen suite in the HR OC-- sounds like we made a good choice. The pools will not be an issue since we are visiting in March.

I love this hotel. If it were within walking distance I would stay there every trip! What stands out to me is the wonderful customer service, the restaurant has GREAT food, and there is a starbucks in the lobby. I think there were 3 pools! Rooms were perfect for us and the housekeeping was quick and efficient. :goodvibes
