Has anyone stayed at the new Hyatt Place on Caravan Ct. It's off of Kirkman Rd. and says it's one mile from Universal. It appears to be brand new and looks quite nice. We have reservations to stay there next week. Anyone tried it yet?

I haven't stayed there but I have stayed at the doubletree across the street and if I am not mistaken its not a mile away form Universal like they say maybe a 10 min walk .

I stayed there in Dec. and it was VERY nice. Got a great deal on hotwire ;)! Great hot breakfast free in the mornings, free computers beside the breakfast area, room was incredibly nice, and spacious. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

yeah, they're not far AT ALL... we only stayed there 2 nights and then moved to wdw, but the rooms were so nice and the breakfasts worked out so great, I really wished we would have stayed there longer!

Wow, I just looked at pictures and this place looks gorgeous!!!!

what did they have for breakfast? considering switching either back to the Hyatt or to the Fairfield so I can save some money on food. Not that I still won't get Cinnabon when I get to the parks in the morning! :goodvibes

It's not a "new" hotel (as in freshly built) but it is the former Amerisuites and you can't go wrong there...and you can't get much more convenient to USF without staying on the property. Just be careful is you're walking across Kirkman Road. We locals are some of the world's most insane drivers.

when we were there, they had big bowls of fresh cut fruit. Melons, grapes, watermelon, pineapple etc., several kinds of cereals, yogurt, toast, bagels, apples, bananas...I should have taken pics. You could also order things at the counter... I'll ask my dh what else he can remember too...they had quite a bit to choose from:yay: we really liked it!

We stayed there and I still couldn't talk my ds and dh into going to US, still had to drive to wdw:laughing: this Dec. we're doing US/IOA regardless...too bad, I already bought the tickets:rotfl:
