Well fellow cruisers....took the plunge....we are arriving late on 11/28 for the Magic sailing on 11/29....booked the Hyatt for that night...$151 plus tax with the AAA rate...kind of steep for one night but we are getting in around 11 PM and don't want to have to call the van....wait.....ride to the hotel....check in...and end up getting to bed at 1 AM.....was afraid to go through Hotwire and take a chance of not getting it....and I guess it will be a good start for 11 great days one one grand ship and 4 nights following in the World.....

You will love staying at the Hyatt! It is so convienent and it's a really nice hotel. :thumbsup2

ITA with dismom - the Hyatt is wonderful and the convenience can't be beat! Have a magical cruise!

We are staying at the Hyatt before our cruise in September and I am looking forward to it.

I just posted a thread - I was also staying at the Hyatt but could only get $183 plus tax with AAA. I checked Hotwire and decided to take the chance it could the Renaissance (which has a 24 hour shuttle). My luck - it was the Hyatt - I am only paying $73 plus tax (88 total). That was such a huge savings (over 100) that I decided the risk was worth it, and a shuttle wouldn;t kill us.

Did the same thing, never been there and the cruise is a whole new experience so thought we'd do it in style. Arriving the day/night before and want to totally relax and take the DCL bus the next day.

The Hyatt just spoke to us and don't regret the cost one bit, even got the hot breakfast to boot. So excited.

I just checked the cost of a one-night stay prior to our cruise on March 14th. The lowest they had was $259. Is the AAA discount really that much? It might be worth joining!

Look into the Hyatt certificates for 129 plus tax. See Hyatts web site for more info:thumbsup2

The AAA rate varies by date.
For Fri. 3/13 you're looking at $207.20 plus tax (around 12% IIRC)

For Orlando Airport Hyatt you need to purchase a Choice level certificate. That's $135.00 plus a $6.00 fee for shipping.
I've never been completely clear on whether taxes are added to that amount or not. I didn't think so, but others have said yes.
:confused3

The certificate terms and conditions do state that accomodations are subject to availability though... so using a Stay Certificate might not be an option for everyone.

It's ONE of the reasons to join AAA.:thumbsup2 I get a 30% discount at LensCrafters with AAA, a big savings for me when I have to get new glasses nearly every year now. That savings alone more than covers the cost of joining...so it's like I get free road service. :goodvibes I have to go to their web site every once and awhile to refresh my memory on all the places they get discounts.

We're at the Hyatt the same night and we got the same AAA rate. I think it's a great deal for the convenience!

We are booked at the Hyatt the night before we check in to our resort, as our flight comes in late. We were able to get a government rate of $111. for the night! Better rate then an extra night at CBR! We will wake up early the next morning rested and be able to check in with Magical express. Once we get to the resort we will be able to hit the parks for 4 nights prior to our crusie!

We will be at the Hyatt the night before our October cruise. I got the Choice Stay Certificate and it was $141.00, including the shipping.

I agree with the others, we stayed at the hyatt last december before the cruise and the rooms were beautiful! And the beds were so comfy! We also loved our balcony that overlooked the inside of the airport.. We didn't check in til about 11pm, (our first flight was cancelled..) but i am thankful, we get to stay again at the end of this mo. when we fly back down for our cruise - and this time we are scheduled to arrive at 4:15pm, so hopefully we can enjoy it more!

THANK YOU!! I had originally booked this hotel a couple of months ago for the night before the cruise. I had a government rate of $136 after taxes. I checked after you posted this and was able to change the rate to $111 after taxes!!! You have no idea how happy you made my day... :thumbsup2 Thanks!

Here's how you can tell if it's the Hyatt on Hotwire: Once you look thru your search results, click on the 4* in MCO area. Scroll all the way down and see if they display the TripAdvisor.com ratings. The Hyatt is 4.5 out of a possible 5. The Renaissance is only 3.5. If they don't show the TA rating and you must have the Hyatt don't buy it.

In the past we've gotten the Hyatt for $59 and just got $73 for Fri of Labor Day weekend. Such a great feeling. :cloud9:
When it's not showing on HW at all, I go with the Hyatt Stay Certificates. A Choice stay is $141 with FedEx shipping so it's the next best thing. I will be using one of these in Sept for a quickie weekend getaway and was told on the phone by the Hyatt rep that this is all I have to give at check in; not extra for tax at all. Only drawback is that FedEx requires a signature so I had it sent to my work. Still no big deal.

For our cruise we were able to get senior rates, $129, since my parents are coming too.

Once you try the Hyatt, you'll want it every time!! :cloud9:
