To anyone who's ever wondered where to stay the first night when arriving on a late flight, I highly recommend the airport Hyatt. I'm posting from there right now. Our room has a balcony overlooking the terminal and we can pick up the free airport Wifi.

It was so nice to retrieve our luggage, hop on the elevator and check in. What a treat after working all day, then flying to Orlando. The hotel is HUGE and we had a long walk from the elevator. But the room is really lovely. Nice big rooms, big flat screen TV, lighted make up mirrors in the bathroom. And it was FREE to boot - I had enough Gold Passport points saved up!

Tomorrow morning we'll wake up and head downstairs to get the Magical Express bus. Our first stay at VWL (and a big change in scenery from the airport - lol.)

That's good to know. I have thought of staying there, as it's so convenient. As for WL, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Being from Ohio, we never see anything like it. Simply beautiful. The main lodge still takes my breath. It never gets old. We thought the main pool was nice, too.

Enjoy your stay, and I hope you have great weather!

quirty30, what a great idea to post this here. We did something similar last year. Rather than leaving Vero very early for a morning flight out of MCO, we drove to MCO the day before and stayed one night at the Hyatt MCO. I had always wondered what it would be like to stay there.

I love watching planes taking off and landing so we spent the late afternoon at the rooftop pool enjoying the sun and watching the planes. They will deliver room service up there. It's really strange staying at an airport. I wouldn't stay there more than one night at a time but it's great at the beginning or end of a trip.

That's good to know. Does anyone know how much they charge for a night????

We've stayed there twice. Before our 2005 cruise and after our 2007 WDW trip with an early flight the next day.

Love that hotel!

we stayed there years ago and absolutely LOVED the convenience of the location!!! we were concerned it was going to be a loud hotel but in the room it was nice and quiet.

I know it's not cheap...closer to $200 most of the time. I've seen reports on the cruise board of people getting it on Hotwire and also something about stay certificates you can buy from Hyatt for like $130. If we'd arrived earlier, I wouldn't have stayed here. But with a 10:30PM arrival after a LONG day, I was so glad I had it booked!

So when you scheduled your ME transportation what flight you say you coming in on? Because if it was for your actual flight wouldn't you need to take the ME the night of arrival? Let us know how it worked out this morning.

They didn't put a flight on the ME reservation. Told us to just go downstairs when we were ready!

I took some of the view - we look out onto the terminal and there are some huge crowds in the security lines this morning. I didn't get any of the room before we crashed last night. It's kind of disheveled now. It looked like the pictures on the website. I'll post the view pic shortly.

We stayed there last year and it was great. We took a late Southwest nonstop flight and it was wonderful to just walk across the terminal to the hotel. It made the trip to Vero so much easier the next day. Returning we spent most of the day at Vero then drove back, had dinner and returned the car -- walked to the hotel. Next morning everything was a breeze.

If anyone is over 62, be sure and check out their senior rates -- they were much lower than even AAA last year.

we are arriving at 11pm in exactly 3 weeks. I thought about booking the Hyatt MCO, but wanted to get on ME when the lines were a little smaller and get to BWV. It's only DW and I, but if they kids were going, I might have changed my plans. I know that in the future we will probably stay there a time or two!

We have stayed here twice. Both times were last minute trips from the west coast and we found really great fares. BUT it meant plane changes and a really late arrival at 11 pm. Our first stay cost $155, the second stay was $175, both included the buffet breakfast. Both stays were within the last 18 months.

Here's a few pictures of our "view" - pardon my fuzzy cell phone pics:

great idea- I had no idea how nice the hotel is. took a quick look and I can get a Gov rate of $90 for a regular king room. not a bad deal at all if we come or leave late/early.
