Hyatt MCO with early flight in

We have done the hyatt pre-cruise before, but usually we are arriving at 9pm or so. The flight arriving at 2:30pm is much less $$ this trip, so probably going with that. Will we be bored out of our minds if we have that much time to kill? The baby goes to bed by 8, so we are looking at 5+ hrs at the hotel before bed. It seems like a hassle to drag all our stuff over to WDW for the night, esp since we are going there post cruise for a few days.

Since u have been there before, i guess u would have some idea. We only stayed there once post cruise (had 8 hours to kill before flight home. Pool was ok and it was convenient when youngest was still napping but we don't plan on staying there again on future trips as there is not much else to do. We do choose to rent a car and booked the Hilton Bonnet Creek because it has a nice lazy river (and poolside movies at night) and is close to Disney springs should we choose to go there for dinner the night before the cruise.

When we have stayed here it was late so we were straight to the room and bed. Good to know there is a pool. We never hang around the airport either, but I know we pass by some stores on our way to dme usually, so I guess we could wander those to kill time.

Probably won't work for you, but when we had an afternoon airport arrival (day before cruise), we rented a car at the airport and headed over to Magic Kingdom for dinner/fireworks (and a couple of rides). If it worked for you, it could be kinda a teaser for going to the parks afterward.

I did this last month-got in about 3 and DH's flight wasn't until 8 so I had a good 5+ hours to kill. I had a perfectly good time wandering the shops-was able to smell every single thing in Lush, check out swatches (flashback to misspent 80s youth) then had sort of a progressive dinner in the sit down restaurants. It was oddly fun With a little one, I'd hit the pool, shower, eat in the food court and have storytime then bed. I think five hours will go by quickly, especially if the littles enjoy pool time.

Don't forget, your flight arrives at 2:30, but by the time you get off the plane, get over to the main terminal, check in and get your bags, it will probably be after 3pm. Take some time in the pool, have a nice dinner and then it's the little one's bed time.

Good point! It will prob air good bit of time to do all that. And the baby will be worn out from travel and not getting her 2 naps so she will go to bed early I bet.

I am flying SW and it is 21k points to arrive 230 and the other nonstop is a 9pm arrival but is 35k. Ugghh. Gonna watch it but doubt it will go any cheaper since it is fri pm before fall break here.

Sounds nice to me. Arrive, get bags, check in, get settled. Maybe dona little shopping for crocs etc in the non-secure side of the airport, have dinner, swim, relax.

I agree, I am not so worried now that the DISers have talked it over with me.

I would enjoy 5 hours or so to kill at MCO airport knowing I could just head upstairs to my room when I wanted. Heck there is a Starbucks right outside the Hyatt entrance so it would be fine. I like the Hyatt MCO. There are tons of shops to browse through at MCO.

If you use Disney's Magical Express you don't have to drag anything except your airline carry-ons and personal items. I cant say whether you would be bored staying in an airport or not but personally Id rather spend less money at a Disney resort (Pop Century for example) than what Hyatt charges and monorail hop, go to Disney Springs, Watch happily Ever After from Contemporary, etc

Gah. I need to proof read. We're arriving at 6 not 2:30 as we originally had. Now I'm thinking we should have kept the 2:30 flight but it works out better since we'll avoid rush hour traffic to get to the airport.

We arrived late than that and still felt the Hyatt was worth it. Of course, we are coming from the west coast so that first night we stay up "late" eastern time, so that pool was perfect for the evening.

We will have the Hyatt on points so free, and can catch the early DCL bus from the airport instead of hiring happy limo as we don't want to wait on the bus at the resort since it comes late. Also, my hubs hates WDW so if I tell him we are going fri before plus again after the cruise he will be more annoyed. Lol.

When we have stayed at the Hyatt, we've enjoyed a relaxing and delicious dinner at McCoy's at the Hyatt. It is on the same floor as the front desk. We've enjoyed it so much that we even had lunch there one time when we had time before our flight home. Much less hectic than the restaurants in the airport proper.
