My daughter has searched everywhere for an answer to this question. It's a question for her biology class. So, anyone know-what's the blood pressure of a typical whale? And why?:confused3

More importantly how do Nurses get those BP Cuffs around the whales fins?:confused3

Just don't ask me how to check its temperature.

I don't know, but I do know the velocity of a swallow -laden and unladen.

Before or after Pinocchio started the fire? :earsboy:

If a Whale has High Blood Pressure, does he have to switch to NON SALT WATER?:rolleyes1

okay now I must go help daughter with her homework, so you all carry on!

I have been looking for 30 minutes, and I know the heart rate and life expectancy of whales now! I can give you the blood pressure for cows, ducks, cats, guinea pigs, goats, pigs, monkeys, dogs, turkeys, frogs and snakes if that will help!!

Search retia mirabilia

A whale's blood pressure can change from very low to very high depending on how deep they are diving. If a human's BP changed that quickly we would have a stroke. The retia mirabilia helps to keep this from happening.

This is correct. I wouldn't think you'll find it listed because there are just too many variables. The depth they swim at, the ocean temp and the size of the animal (which is tons) all affect their BP.

I just want to know how the teacher knows the answer! I've been looking for 45 minutes now & no luck. Where on earth did he/she come up with this question?!?

ETA: The whale's BP is lower than that of the student/mother/father who have spent all night trying to find the answer to such a question!

That's what I'd like to know after all the time I spent looking for the answer.

That's what we're thinking too. I think it may be a trick question. I'll just tell her not to tell anyone she got the answer on the disboards.;)

OK, I know no one else probably cares, but this has bothered me all day, do I'm bumping it up. So...OP, do you have the answer yet? I'm hoping the teacher told the kids in class today.
