Husband never shares vacation enthusiasm

It sounds like he doesn't share your planning enthusiasm but enjoys your vacations just fine.

I say let him be. DH doesn't enjoy the planning and anticipation as much as I do, but that doesn't stop me. I can tell him all the details I want months in advance but he doesn't remember them, so I do the planning (I know where he likes to stay, where he likes to eat, his favorite attractions, his vacation style, etc.) and feed him information on a "need to know" basis -- which usually isn't until we're in the car or on the plane en route to our destination.

Yes, it sometimes feels frustrating that he doesn't share my "excitement," but this is what works for us.

DH has only been to Disney once, and that involved 7 kids ages 3-16 and 2 other adults, so he probably couldn't be labeled a fan. When we were discussing how we didn't have a honeymoon (no vacation time left by our December wedding), and how I'd always wanted to see Disney decorated for Christmas, he said we could there for a delayed honeymoon, but it was a bit grudging. He has been told some of the basic plans, but other than a general when and a mention of where we are staying, he's pretty unaware. Yesterday he was watching TV before he fell asleep and it was on a Disney World special and he said "I think I might actually enjoy our trip" lol

People are different. I don't get excited about football games but my husband is thrilled to plan the trip, and wakes up ready for a road trip etc.

No big deal. We love time together and in the end, his activities or mine are a vehicle for time with one another.

My husband didn't get too excited for our first trip together, last year. I obsessed over it and planned out our meals. I made sure we got tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We were also part of a test for FastPass+ so I was able to plan out some of our fastpasses. When we came back and many times since then, he has told people that was the best vacation he had ever been on. We made reservations yesterday for WDW in March and when I said I wasn't excited yet, but I would be as it got closer, he reacted like he thought I was crazy! I'm glad that I was able to show him how great a Disney vacation could be, so that now he will get excited and be more willing to go as often as we can.

I find that on the whole men don't get excited about things until it is happening. Obviously not all men, but most of them. Whether it is expecting a baby or planning a trip, they just don't get as worked up in advance as the women do. My husband is a great sport when we get there, but he just wants to show up and not have to deal with months of plans. Since he would never complain if something went wrong it doesn't bother me at all that he isn't into the planning.

My DH does not get excited about vacations either until we are about to leave then he may show the slightest bit of excitement. I think the cost of our vacations always make him cringe, but he will get over it and he always has fun. Lucky for him I am planning 2 vacations next year, a family vacation at WDW and a Vegas vacation for just us, sorry DH

Mine didn't want to be involved at ALL in the planning of our last trip (which was our first time there together and his first time ever).

Now that he's been there, he wants to be totally involved in the planning of this trip. I wish he would be like he was last time. Now he has an actual opinion!

My dh is the same way - he could care less. Actually I kind of like it that way. I get to plan everything the way I want it (although I don't schedule things I know he will hate) and he just wakes up every morning and asks where we are going. He likes not having to think about it and I love obsessing so it works out really well.
