Hurry Up, You Brats, or I'm Telling Mickey Mouse! An August 2013 TR THE END 1/18

I love your Mike Wazowski shirt & bow! Very cute.

I can't wait to get myself onto RnRC. My absolute favorite Disney coaster EVER!!!

I really liked Oz! I'll have to go check out the props. I love Titanic too! Saw it in the theater 3 times, and still cry like a baby when it comes on TV and I see Jack waiting for Rose at the top of the staircase at the end. Okay I better stop now before I start crying again! :lmao:

Catching up on this one!

The Picture of the Castle caught my eye so I'm all over this report.

You and your sister are adorable and your Mom seems great (handling the meeting with the wicked stepmother well):lmao:

Do you have paramedics standing by when your Dad gets off of Small World? It's a real heart stopper and gets that adrenaline flowing!:rotfl2:
Really though the picture of him with Tiana was just about the sweetest thing I've seen. He looks so excited, kind of like a teenager with a crush.
I'm a sucker for those kinds of pictures, they just touch my heart.:lovestruc

Will get caught up soon!

awesome pictures. love the Shirt. I can totally understand why you don't go on TOT.... I don't like the ride either so sometimes I don't go on at all.... Although I did go on in July because of the grandkids.... Gavin already freaks himself out so if I wasn't going on he for sure would chicken out.....

Thank you!!! I'm glad to find someone else who doesn't like TOT...I wish I did, but the drops and the spooky factor are just too much for me.

Aww Courtney, how sweet of you for the Thanksgiving shout out.

Ha, love your pumpkin and squash. If you're gonna go non-Disney, a minion is a good choice! Love them.

Yay for ANNUAL PASS!!!

Nice Disneybounding by the way. :thumbsup2

Don't feel too bad. I know lots of people who can do the wildest coasters but can't handle Tower. It's a very different sensation. I, of course, LOVE IT, but you're not alone.

I haven't done the Backlot Tour in ages. It was in refurb last October and I just had no interest in April. It does need an update but I think it's going to be gone forever at some point. I may have to give it one last run before it does.

Oooo doppleganger... do tell!!

You are so welcome, Rob! I hope you had a great day of turkey and stuffing!

Thanks!!! I think the minions are sooo cute. Despicable Me and the sequel are two of my favorites.

The AP life is so great. I could get used to it...

Thanks :goodvibes it was fun, and I got a lot of great comments.

Yeah, I don't know, I'm not a huge heights or horror person so it's just not for me.

I have so many ideas on how to refurb the Backlot Tour. I do enjoy it but I won't be opposed to something new if it's a good idea!

You are getting so crafty! The pumpkins are adorable.

I'm glad Kylie decided to try RNRC because I didn't really want to have to go with you. That is now on my Murtaugh list. I didn't see that Wet Paint sign, that is really cute.

You are king of the world! Lots of great Titanic props.

It was getting to be the trip of technical difficulties, that's for sure.

What else can I bribe you with to get you to stay home and not go back to college this afternoon??

Thanks Mom :)

I'm obsessed with that wet paint sign. I really want one. Flynn and Rapunzel are my faves.

Titanic!!! Thanks for taking the pic of the lifeboat and me.

I miss you!

Great pics! :)

Thank you!!!

Thank you!

You will be reunited with RnRC SO SOON! So excited for you!!!

I loved Oz! You should definitely check out that AFI exhibit, there was a lot of great stuff going on. I always get sucked in when it's on TV even though it's 5 hours long with commercials...

Thank you so much for joining in!

Thank you for the nice words about my family  we do in fact have to stop for a cold drink and rest after Small World, it's just too wild :rotfl2: My dad loves Tiana! She's always so sweet to him, and it always makes for a good photo op.

I hope you enjoy the rest of my TR!

Just have to say that this is the first trip report I have ever read and it is amazing! When I ran out of chapters for the time being, I tried another report but it just wasn't the same. It couldn't keep my attention. I'm spoiled now, so you'll have to do more reports through the year!!! Thanks for a great read!:wave2:

Hi Courtney! I've been quietly reading your trip report for a while now and had to comment to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your penguin tour experience! I have wanted to do this for so long and am leaving for Orlando in two weeks. My boyfriend needed some convincing and reading your trip report has done just the trick! It is so hard to find information on this tour online! Can I ask if you were only allowed one photo with the penguin or could you take a couple (eg: one solo and one as a group?) He is very into photography and I am into scrapbooking so would be really useful to know!

Also, is quick queue included in the price? I've heard varying reports!

Thank you SO much! I am so glad you enjoy hearing about our trip! I will definitely be keeping up with this one, and I have a trip coming up in just over a month, so there is definitely more to come! You're too sweet

Hi Amy! First, welcome and thank you for reading along! That is fantastic that you're going to do the penguin tour and I'm glad I could help convince your boyfriend. It really was a beyond incredible experience!

We did one group photo with the penguin and then one with just my sister and me. Another family of three did two photos as well, one with all of them and one with just the daughter. So I think you should be able to get a solo photo!

We did not get a quick queue with our tour. We had a complimentary one from staying at a SeaWorld hotel, but it didn't include the Antarctica ride, which is something to keep in mind. We asked someone and only the QQs that you pay for include Antarctica.

I hope you have an amazing time and be sure to let me know how you liked the tour!! :thumbsup2

Howdy all! This is going to be my last update for about two weeks. Next weekend I'm going to New Orleans for a journalism conference and I have a billion things to do before then. I'm very excited though and plan to eat all the beignets as well as avoid voodoo men. Also, we have a layover in Orlando on the way there. If I didn't already have a Disney trip planned I would think that was a sick joke, but now I can just breathe in the Florida smell and possibly book it to the Earport store. ANYWAY I'll be back soon and in the meantime here's more of my DHS day!

Chapter Twenty-Five: You and Me, Me and You, Both of Us Together

Mike and Sulley were meeting near the exit of the Backlot Tour, so we went to go say hi!

DSC00975_zps4edea553.jpg

DSC00974_zps2b4ab1b4.jpg

The theming of the area was unreal. I want to transfer to MU. I could major in Creative Roaring.

DSC00976_zps62097bfc.jpg

Mike was really happy to see me dressed like him, and Sulley was nice enough to let the two of us have a pic by ourselves!

My dad loves bro-hugging characters.

9616494050_fc95290e7c_z.jpg

Then, it was time for our TSM Fastpasses!

DSC00978_zps9a8abb75.jpg

Me holding the most precious cargo:

9613257387_353d7ed8dd_z.jpg

The Fastpass line was actually out the door, but no one seemed to be in the standby line, which was listed at 115 minutes&we guessed that they were trying to discourage people from getting in the standby line so they could catch up on the Fastpasses from when the ride was down.

I lost. To everyone. Womp.

DSC00979_zpsaa26b91a.jpg

Next, I had a snack I had read about on the Dis and was dying to try. This would be our lunch, since we had a really early dinner reservation.

We bopped over to Starring Rolls and I got&drumroll please&

DSC00980_zps373951d2.jpg

THE RED VELVET CHEESECAKE CUPCAKE.

DSC00982_zps5891d1a7.jpg

Lunch of champions.

DSC00984_zpsa3c3cf03.jpg

This was the best cupcake I have ever eaten. Hands down. The cake was perfect, the frosting was so creamy, and the cheesecake was such an excellent touch. I loved it. I want one right now. My dad got it as well and loved it.

Kylie got an M&M brownie, which was delicious, but huge!

DSC00981_zps89f529e7.jpg

Mom got a strawberries & cream cupcake, which was so pretty! It has pink chocolate bits on top.

DSC00983_zpsdca5675a.jpg

After filling up on delicious food, what better choice to make than to ride a simulator? So Mom, Kylie, and I went on Star Tours!

One of the greeters at the door saw my shirt and said, I'm watching you Wazowski, always watching! in a PERFECT imitation of Roz. It made me so happy!

I don't know much about Star Wars, but we saw Darth Vader, went through the arctic scene, saw Princess Leia (I was excited since we usually get Yoda), then went underwater and got chewed on by a monster.

We decided to go back to the Animation Academy to take another class. The greeter was named Kyle, and he was so funny! I traded pins with him and gave him a Jiminy Cricket pin, and he sang I'm No Fool to me! Then, when the doors opened, he did the Por favor monorail spiel. Too great.

We drew Donald this time. Shout out to Dani, who hearts Donald Duck! I made his mouth a little too big, but otherwise he looks pretty okay!

Then it was time to head over to my favorite DHS show!

Continued in next post

Courtney, I hope you have a WONDERFUL conference in New Orleans. Haha, that is almost cruel to have a layover at MCO. Thank goodness your trip is close.

Aww, how perfect to have a picture with Mike!!!!

RED VELVET CHEESECAKE CUPCAKE is on my to do list!!! Disney knows their cupcakes!

Ahh you got a good Star Tours sequence.

And yup, Animation Class is ALSO on my to do list. Wow, you're really giving me a sneak peak here! :thumbsup2

Thank you!! :goodvibes I know. We have about an hour and a half there so I'm hoping to sneak over to the Disney and Universal stores, but if not I'll be there really soon.

Mike and I are pals. He was great.

Ughhh it was SO GOOD. I love cupcakes and this was undoubtedly the best one I have ever had. It was so big I had to eat it with a fork...my dad just went headfirst :rotfl:

The Animation building is one of my favorite things about DHS. I could spend hours there meeting characters and taking art classes. It's such a hidden gem.

Got a little bit behind but all caught up again. :)

Have a wonderful time in NO. I have never been there but it is on my bucket list. Watch out for the Voodoo Man. :)

I LOVE coasters. If I ever won the lottery I would quit my job and join up with the Roller Coaster fanatics and just go ride coasters all over the world. I am terrified of heights so going up the hill is the scariest part for me but I love the adrenaline rush on the way down. I desperately need to go to SW and ride those 2 coasters. Sorry to hear that Manta didn't agree with your dad. Hopefully it won't put him off Coasters forever.

That cupcake looks so AMAZING!!! I so want one, right now. :) That M&M one looks pretty delicious too.

Looks like you are having a great time and I will be looking forward to your next update when you get back.

MMMM red velvet cupcake is to die for..... I am going to have one in January for sure.....:love:. the strawberry one that your mom had looked really good too so I may have to get that one too. I think I will ask my daughter Danielle(IheartDDuck)to add cupcakes to our trip :dance3:

Okay, I am DROOLING over those cupcakes, they make me want one (or all!!). Loving all of the updates, you take great pics, your Grandmom would be so proud. :goodvibes

Rachel wants to know if she can stow away with you to New Orleans. I always tell her when someone gets to go...One of these days!!

You know I will be waiting to hear the details on ALL of the trips!

That sounds fantastic! I love coasters too, and the two at SeaWorld were among the best! I'm actually scared of heights too so people always think it's funny I love coasters.

Ugh, Starring Rolls has the BEST snacks. Definitely would recommend.

You should definitely get cupcakes in January! You could each get one flavor and split them in half so you get the best of both worlds! January's such a good time to go to Disney. The weather was perfect when we went in January this year.

Okay, I am DROOLING over those cupcakes, they make me want one (or all!!). Loving all of the updates, you take great pics, your Grandmom would be so proud. :goodvibes

Judy! I am so happy to see you over here, welcome to my TR!

Those cupcakes were amazing, I just love a good cupcake and Disney does them well.

Thank you so much

I will definitely have to send pictures to you and Rachel. She will get there someday, I am sure of it, probably playing a huge concert there :goodvibes

Aaahhh cupcakes! I showed my friend Nikki the White Chocolate Elephant cupcake last night and told her about these at Starring Rolls and she said on her next trip cupcakes are going to be her mission too!

That TSM standby queue was totally empty - how weird was that?

Your Animation Academy drawings are great - so glad you started to do them with me and Kylie.

Still love the Mike shirt!

I have NEVER had a Disney Cupcake..ever!! If I had one, what should I pick?

Rachel would be in heaven if she could go to New Orleans and if she could PERFORM....:faint: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I do too!

It is definitely hard to decide, there are so many good ones! The Red Velvet one is definitely my favorite, though.

I hope Rachel enjoys my pictures, we had such a good time!

Real Life Update #2: Dreams Do Come True in New Orleans

Hi everyone! I'm back and wanted to do a brief real life update. First of all, it is October 31. Which means tomorrow is November. Which is DISNEY MONTH!!!! AHHHHHH :cheer2: Expect a PTR post in the next few weeks.

Next, I wanted to share a few pictures of my trip to New Orleans. I loved it there! The journalism conference itself was amazing and getting to explore the city was so great. It was so beautiful, I loved the architecture, and I had so much good food. I loved the jambalaya, but I also enjoyed fried alligator  I was freaked out to try it, but it looked and tasted like popcorn chicken. I wasn't big on gumbo, and my absolute favorite was the beignets :joker:

We ate here our first night and it was fabulous!

This quote was everywhere. Not sure I agree, but I love the pride people from New Orleans have for their city!

We went on a mule and buggy ride:

Nicolas Cage used to own this house. Johnny Depp owns it now, but he's never been there.

St. Louis Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the country:

I made some friends on Bourbon Street! There were about twenty-five of them and they were hilarious:

Now back to your regularly scheduled trip reporting!

Chapter Twenty-Six: Tale as Old as Time

Then we headed over to see Beauty and the Beast interpreted, and I got the best pin EVER!

DSC01015_zpsa3d21178.jpg

I had seen this around as an ornament and loved it so much, but I didn’t really want to spend that much money on an ornament, so finding it as a pin was AMAZING.

Then it was showtime!

Fierce Gaston. We had seen the costumes in the Backlot Tour this morning!

9616493448_174a856884_z.jpg

9613256823_a82dafcf84_z.jpg

9613256587_3ca20c0584_z.jpg

I love this show so much. Obviously BATB is my fave, so seeing it live on stage just leaves me in awe. I cry every time. It’s a really fun show to see interpreted as well, because the interpreters get so into the story.

Next, we headed back to the Animation Building! We’re obsessed, what can I say?

We saw that Frozone and Mr. Incredible were meeting, so we figured we’d go say hi! I didn’t love the Incredibles when it first came out, but I watched it again last year and REALLY loved it.

9613256289_5614ee5360_z.jpg

I told Frozone it was too hot out, and he said if I brought him some water, he’d turn it into ice for me!

Mr. Incredible was quite mad that I wasn’t wearing a shirt with him on it, and made me leave shamefully.

Then, when I went to show off my guns, he had to look closely to see them, and they both LAUGHED AT ME. So embarrassing.

9613256035_6317a66198_z.jpg

9613255741_58c955ca48_z.jpg

After that, we had a bit of time to kill before the American Idol show, so we did some shopping and pin trading.

DSC00986_zpsa3cc709e.jpg

I have a secret, guys. I love the hat. I really do. I think it’s adorable. I like imagining a super tall Mickey Mouse trying it on. IT’S PRECIOUS OK. But I wasn’t able to get any good pictures because of the stage. Oh well.

DSC00987_zps53a889f0.jpg

I grabbed a churro, and I noticed that prices had gone up! The cast member working the stand confirmed that today churros went from $3.50 to $3.75. They must have known I got there, and would buy churros at any price because they are delicious and I have no willpower.

I also heard this great interaction while waiting in line:
Little boy: Dad, can I get a churro?
Dad: Isn’t it a little hot to be eating a churro?
Little boy: …yeah, but I still want a churro.

A boy after my own heart. When I am a parent, that will be my child, and I will never question their desire for churros. Because churros are always delicious regardless of weather, time, or place.

Then we went to the American Idol Experience! I voted for the second girl who sang “The Climb,” but the last performer was a guy who sang “Superstition,” and he won. He was really good though!

This show is interpreted as well, if you were wondering!

Then it was time for our dinner ADR!
