How do hotels handle making sure guests get to eat during a Hurricane? We are staying at Wilderness Lodge. Will they keep a crew on to keep WCC and the quick service open? Or should I risk the grocery store and transfer to a family suite at all stars with a kitchenette.

It depends on the track of the Hurricane and the wind speeds. The resorts begin a phased closed down process as the Hurricane process likely hood increases. If and when the parks close the resorts will stage a shutdown of services to protect Guests and CMs.

If the hurricane track gets close to Orlando you should plan to spend possibly more time in your room and be restricted to the resort. You should plan on having snacks and water in your room for a worst case situation.

At some point if the winds were increase too high you will be asked to remain in building to limit your risk to flying debris.

In the past the resorts have handed out flashlights to gets as power outages hit and some remote resort building experienced first floor flooding.

At a certain wind sped Ft. Wilderness Campground will closes and guests will be relocated to other resorts on higher ground due to the possibility of low level flooding.

Don't wait to have some snacks and fresh water and snacks available in your room if the track narrows down to the WDW area. However rare this may be.

DIsney World has closed for Hurricanes:
Sept. 14, 1999 Hurricane Floyd....
Five years later, the park would close three times in two months when Florida was hit by hurricanes Charlie, Francis and Jeanne.
Hurricane Matthew in 2016
Hurricane Irma in 2017
Hurricane Dorian in 2019.

I think 2017 was the one that resulted in people staying inside for days. You can google the hurricane name and DisneyWorld. Here's a trip report, although I don't know if the Dis allows this website:

We were at WDW in 2017 during Hurricane Irma. I consider it the best trip we ever had. We stayed at BLT and were confined to the resort for less than 24 hours. Parks closed at 6pm on Saturday and Irma came through Sunday overnight, although weather was bad starting Sunday early afternoon. By the time we woke up Monday morning, skies were clear. We were only confined to BLT from sometime Sunday (can't remember exactly when) until a Monday morning time that was earlier than when we woke up. We were able to walk next door to the Contemporary to access their activities and restaurants until sometime in the evening when winds got too strong.

WDW has staff that volunteer for 'ride out' duties. They stay onsite at the resorts during the hurricanes and keep things running. So at WL, Roaring Forks and Whispering Canyon will be operating as long as they have power. I would recommend either packing some snacks or picking things up at WDW when you arrive so you have food in the room in case the storm causes the resort to lose power or is so violent they request guests stay in their rooms. There is a much lower chance of being confined to your room at WL than at a resort that doesn't have interior hallways. Being confined to your resort is much different than being confined to your room. I definitely would recommend sticking with WL over the All Stars resorts where you are almost guaranteed to be stuck in your room for an extended period of time.

You do not want to be at a value during a lockdown. Confined to your room with overpriced vending machine quality sandwiches. Things are usually much better at resorts with interior hallways ie most deluxes.
