How docruise ships keep you safe

I have a family member on board now that is why I am asking

Disney is very good at avoiding storms.

A couple of years ago, a tropical storm brewed up and we were re-routed and changed ports of call.

Disney is awesome about keeping the people and ships safe. When we did the Panama Canal last year, we hit hurricane Odile and a tropical storm. They kept us updated on the storms and how we would be going around them. We missed a couple of ports (who cares, sea days are the best anyway!) and had some rough seas, but I never felt we were in any danger. Our very first cruise, was Hurricane Wilma and instead of going to the Western Caribbean, they took us to the Eastern Caribbean

Wow, that is a heavy itinerary change!

That regularly occurs, It's happened to me twice, two Easterns swapped to Westerns, it's easy as everything us already set in place and when you go one direction you can't easily cut back to the original.
