It's not track shopping. All of the latest updates for all models are trending Eastward. The global ensembles, the GFS and the ECMWF all have that trend. To be honest I'm still expecting it to swing back west, but it's not track shopping when we're just updating people on the latest models

Just arrived at Orlando. No rain so far. We are here till next Wednesday. If the new radars hold true I think we will be fine with some bad rain and wind a day or two. Praying for everyone affected and praying it goes easy and out to sea.

Local here again...I am liking our situation as the days go by. It looks like any impact to Central Fl will be as a category 3, still strong storm but not "catastrophic" damage. As of right now we are staying home, got all my supplies ready, washing clothes on Friday just in case of potential power outage.
I'm going to Publix in a bit, not for any storm preparation items I forgot some stuff from my grocery trip yesterday, I'll report back maybe take some pics
And just in case anyone is interested, I follow Brian Shields on Facebook (Channel 9 WFTV local station) I like him because he gives out the facts and doesn't panic or instill panic in any way.

I checked Southwest and there were some flights remaining for Tuesday but many booked. Since I was due to arrive Monday and that is the last day Southwest will change without having to pay the difference I booked it. Called my gulf beach rental office. They were great. If the island has mandatory evacuations and I can't get there we get a full refund, so that helps. Still watching and waiting.

Really, a hard lesson to learn all the way around but personally, I'd have to save massive amounts of money to ever book a package deal with someone like that. Never book airfare with Disney or Disney with airlines is my moto. Direct to the source. So much easier to deal with changes direct with the source.

I always always book package deals because we save anywhere from $400-$800.

This is a good point though, i learned a couple years back when a return flight was cancelled due to weather. Had to fight and fight with Expedia, but did get a partial refund. The airline was useless.

No doubt about your point, booking directly is easier to deal with if anything goes wrong.

It's a question of whether the money you save is worth it.

Hoping they all get on the same page about free dining. Unfortunately it's up to my TA on who she gets for a CM since she has to do the changes for me... But I'm still holding out to Friday to make any official changes. Fingers crossed!

I couldn't get anyone to honor the free dining and had to downgrade to a mod resort to cover cost difference!

Ugh considering moving trip the the 24th. Big downside is we won't be able to get any of the adr we had for this week. Adr that week are extremely slim pickings with almost no character meals. And we had one for each day this week including akersus banquet hall which my daughter was extremely looking forward too. And in sure fastpasses will be difficult to get. I know to move the trip is prolly the best decision but still sux when u had everything scheduled several months ago and put alot of time into it. Irma u suck.

My rant. Stop listening to people who post Joe Blow weather guy sites or spaghetti and meatballs forecast. Follow the National Hurricane Center at NOAA only. This is the true indicator for storms.

I always keep a few cans of sterno on hand. That way even in the dead of winter (PA) we can still heat up some soup or water for instant coffee, cocoa, etc.

I worked for Yankee Candle up in Wisconsin for 11 years before moving here so my 300 jars and 700 tealights came with me (don't need anyone lecturing me on the dangers of candle usage during emergencies please) I was looking at my Tea Kettle Warmer as a way to warm a pot of soup. But now that I have my grill I think that will be more effective

Sam's Club at Tampa was a mad house. I went there for everything BUT water but I don't understand why there isn't a limit of the amount of water people are allowed. When you have one person buying 100 cases of water, what do you think they'll likely be doing with it?

I wonder the same thing about this time every single year...Why don't people already have water stored and ready? Buy some in the months leading up to hurricane season so you already have it and don't have to panic when a storm actually comes.

For water buy empty pitchers or tea/lemonade gallons and fill those up. There is still gas in Central Florida, a full tank will get you from Orlando to the state line with Georgia

We found that quite a few good ADRs open up the day and night before. I know it's not ideal, but we were amazed at the ADRs we could get before going to bed. Even the day of.
