Hurricane Irma?

I wonder the same thing about this time every single year...Why don't people already have water stored and ready? Buy some in the months leading up to hurricane season so you already have it and don't have to panic when a storm actually comes.

I'm not saying this goes for everyone but what's the reason people need 100 to 200 cases of water? They will most likely be reselling it for a much higher price... Whether it is by the bottle or case. Again...I'm not saying that goes for everyone, but that's just the reality of the situation.

And I'm sure it has been mentioned here already, toll roads are now free to use for the entire state until further notice. Faster way to get to and from Disney :D
I posted it yesterday, but the thread is moving so fast it never hurts to repost the info. :)

I'm flying in Saturday AM and am probably keeping my trip.

That's our plan currently. Waiting until Thursday to make the final decision, but the early Irma reports from St. Martin and St. Barts are heartbreaking. Starting to lean toward rescheduling.

I'm in Tallahassee. Went to sams on Tuesday got two cases of water from the water aisle. Went back Wednesday morning. Entire aisle of water was empty. There was 5 cases left on a pallet. I picked up one and the rest were gone shortly after

Went to two Walmarts and grabbed a few snacks. Water - gone. Canned fruit - mostly gone. Tuna packets just the exploded bad ones left on the shelf. Peanut butter. Ok. Jelly. Grape was in short supply. Bread. Tons left

Batteries. No D's to be found all other sizes available

I started thinking if power is out for awhile I'd like hot food eventually and so I was pleasantly surprised in the supply of tiny charcoal grills so I picked one of those up and charcoal however starting fluid was hard to find. Luckily a case was against the wall on the rack but I couldn't reach it so I grabbed a rake from the lawn area and pulled it forward and got my bottle

I have read earlier in this thread that publix has more shipments in their warehouse on the ways to stores today and tomorrow of water
Sounds like NC when they're calling for 2 inches of snow...:rolleyes1 Irma, however, is a much more significant event...good luck everyone whatever you decide to do :grouphug:

Oh, I agree with you. People do not need that much water. That is nothing more than pure greed.

Asked this last night but it got lost in the shuffle. Anyone have any insight into arrival day cancelations being any different than the night before for both airlines or hotel?

Question for those with more travel experience. If my flight is friday scheduled to leave at 1pm and arrive around 4pm via jetblue, when is the latest I can make changes to my flight (friday morning?). Also can I change my resort booking the day of without fees? Trying to decide if i need to call this by thursday or if I can keep waiting for more forecast data. Also want to know how long to wait for flight waiver if it will happen. If they do a waiver does it cover moving return flight too?

Well, I just got word our office is shutting down at the end of business Friday and not planning to reopen until Tuesday. So at least I don't have to be worried about getting trapped at the office. It will mean a LOT of work onTuesday before heading to Disney. Keep movin' east Irma!

Really? Wow. only through Sunday? And rebook through Tuesday? Am I the only one that thinks that's too short? Right now at least.
