Hunny even my socks smell like Disney! ~ "relaxing" Sept 2010 trip!1/24/11 RACE TIME!

So when we left off, Lee and I were having fun in The Living Seas…here is my EPCOT ball picture while waiting for Lee to catch up with me

IMG_2003.jpg

We were headed over to Mission Motion Sickness….oh I’m sorry Mission Space….same thing in my book. I swear there is a moment on that ride where you are being pushed back into your seat and I think that is when I may pass out. I usually avoid this ride, but we made a deal if he went on coasters I would ride this…ugh!

missionspace.jpg

Lee talked me into 2 rides on the orange side…this ride never has lines when I visit…I wonder if it ever does?

After Mission Space we were on our way to Test Track

IMG_2005.jpg

We had fastpasses (don’t remember when we grabbed these), but there was no line

testtrack.jpg

I like this ride more each time I ride it and Lee really enjoyed himself as well…though we sat in the back and I was really hoping I would get the front. I was also BUMMED because the photopass was down and that is the one ride that could be added to our CD.

We took a few minutes to explore Innoventions. We found the firefighter exhibit and of course Lee wanted to chat with the CMs about the fire truck they have on display. He was excited to show me all of the equipment and parts on the truck (He just applied to a paid position here, so fingers crossed again, it’s really competitive to get a paid position around here)

firetruck.jpg

The CM at the exhibit gave Lee a form to fill out and send back to WDW with a badge from his volunteer fire station. They explained to us that they constantly rotate the badges on display and there is a computer that will permanently display your stations info….pretty cool!

You can see in my picture of the truck theres a little fire hydrant...facing the other way is a camera where you can take your picture and then add little cartoon hats and funny things in your picture and email it to yourself...I can't find ours :headache:

Entering WS again

IMG_1986.jpg

I made Lee agree that if I rode Mission Motion Sickness I would be rewarded with a margarita from Mexico!! He held up his end of the bargain and we grabbed a table at La Cava del Tequila…I picked a pineapple margarita..YUUMMMM!! and Lee was excited to see they had Dos Equis, he loves that beer for some reason

IMG_2007.jpg

Here I am post margarita

mexicohat.jpg

We grabbed a beer and margarita at the Food and Wine stands and started walking around the different countries (do not get this blue margarita - after 2 sips = gross ... though I felt the need to drink at least half :rotfl:)

IMG_2008.jpg

IMG_2010.jpg

We didn’t get too far before seeing one of Lee’s favorites..Lee forgot he had a beer in hand and the photopass CM reminded him “it’s not that kind of fiesta” :lmao: I couldn’t stop laughing, because Lee hardly ever drinks so of course he forgot he even had it

Photo0147FiveBySeven.jpg

We watched the Chinese acrobats, I wasn’t able to snap any good pictures, but as usual very impressive. We took the time to take a few pictures across the water

IMG_1987.jpg

IMG_1989.jpg

We found my favorite princess again

IMG_1994.jpg

We then proceeded to prank people on the red phone booths in the UK….this was hilarious and the families who picked up the phones were really great sports

IMG_1996.jpg

After our quick tour of WS, we made our way back to Germany to have dinner at Biergarten. I knew Lee would like some items on the buffet, but I was worried at the same time since he is a pretty picky eater. It wasn’t his favorite meal, but he did enjoy trying new things

IMG_2011.jpg

I LOVE the atmosphere in Germany and I love the dinner entertainment..here is a quick video

When we left dinner it was dark out. We returned to the UK, because Lee wanted to do some shopping there. While he did I had a photo shoot with some of my best buddies

I REALLY wanted Lee to stay to see Illuminations, but he seemed more interested in returning to POP to relax. I think he would have loved it if we stayed. I wasn't too upset, because I was exhausted again...off to our home away from home

Up Next: Lions, Tigers, and Dinos - OH MY!

Ha ha, love the post margarita picture! That's what I tend to look like to.

Looks like you guys had a really great day overall.

I'll admit that Mission Motion Sickness is one of those rides that does absolutely nothing for me. I even ride the high test side and nothing. The first time I rode it I ended up with a bit of a headache, but now I get off wondering what the point was. I'm always bored, but yet paranoid about keeping my eyes in place so that I don't get motion sick. (Even though I've never gotten even quesie on it. My past few times I've just skipped it.

It looks like a great day at the WS - not too rushed. I had to skip Illuminations on my planned day this trip too. I just couldn't keep my eyes open.

So...did you survive? Toss your cookies? I'm with you...I like the green side better.

I shudder to think what the 2nd margarita might do to you. :rotfl2:

So what was the prank exactly? What did you say? We need details!

:cutie:
Thank you, we did! I wish they had the margarita flight ( I wanted to try more than one but I was good after that one :rotfl:) but our server said it was off the menu during Food & Wine Festival...not sure why :confused3

Lee said the same thing that it did nothing for him...thats why he wanted to ride a second time to see if he "missed something". I thought he was fibbing, but I guess he was telling the truth!! I always feel a little queasy, but more than anything the "force" on my chest makes me panic a little. The little buttons they have you push honestly save me every time and help me focus on something else

So...did you survive? Toss your cookies? I'm with you...I like the green side better.

I did ok...but refuse to get back on that thing...I just feel like I am going to lose it on that ride...I mean come on its the only ride I have ever seen that has motion sickness bags on it!!

I shudder to think what the 2nd margarita might do to you. :rotfl2:

I probably would have been swimming in the water inside the Mexico pavillion!!
So what was the prank exactly? What did you say? We need details!

I cant remember what I was trying to say...I am terrible at "pranks" I just started giggling...but Lee was trying to say he was the Queen of England...the only queen he sounded like was one that does drag :lmao::lmao:

Great update, Shannon.

I love the picture of you and Lee with Donald Duck (sans the beer); love the "after margarita" picture. I'm glad Lee enjoyed trying some things at Biergarten (it is one of my favorite places and I LOVE the entertainment).

Sounds like a great day at Epcot.

Oh....and as far as Mission: Space (or Mission Puke or whatever you want to call it), all I can say is: :sick::sick::sick:

Mission Motion Sickness! That is great! I feel the same way about that ride...we usually tend to skip it!

Love your post margarita shot! :goodvibes

Your photo shoot with Pooh and Tigger looks like fun! :thumbsup2

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Shannon!

Finally caught up! We had no intention of doing Mission Space this year, because it always makes me feel pretty nauseous afterwards also. But I'm the same as you, I never feel like I get to spend enough time in World Showcase.

Thank you :goodvibes Lee loves his Donald Duck now, but he swears Goofy is still his favorite!! I have to tell you I felt great after one margarita...I am not sure how people can handle multiple :rotfl:

We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving, hope you guys did too :goodvibes I am sad to be back at work now!!

I can't believe I went on that ride, nevermind 2 times, he is excited to go back to ride the tea cups (they were down when we were there)

I always see other TRs with TONS of pictures from WS and I'm so jealous!!

After reading KatMark TR and seeing the beautiful Christmas decorations up (lots of Mickey!!!) I forced Lee to put our tree up this past weekend :goodvibes

I am not allowed to overdo the decorations (what do men know anyway!!) but we do have a majority of Disney related ornaments, because my mother has collected one for me every year since I was born

Here is Lee's first disney related ornament I purchased for him last year

Here we are at my friend/sorority sister from college's wedding in Aiken, SC (2 weekends ago - in our christmas colors :thumbsup2)

Promise to have our AK day update tonight or tomorrow :goodvibes

RISE AND SHINE!!! Donald and friends were waiting to have breakfast with us. I wanted to book at least one character meal and I thought breakfast would be a great choice and I’ve never had a table service meal in Animal Kingdom…so why not?!? This way I made sure Lee could meet his two favorite buddies Donald and Goofy!!

As usual we were running late, I do not know how other people can stay up late at WDW and then get up the next morning for rope drop!! I never told Lee this, but I had made an ADR for 830 am and one for 930 am that day, because I really wasn’t sure if we would be able to get up early and because this meal meant so much to me. I cancelled the 930 one and stuck with the 830 one, I wanted to be at AK early (I don’t even know why now that I think about it :confused3 I should have picked EPCOT or MK to be early for )

IMG_2027.jpg

AK.jpg

We had the photopass person snap our picture with our camera outside with Donald, because thanks to the wonderful DISboards, I knew he wouldn’t come around at breakfast and I knew they tried to sell you the picture they take as well. When they did try to sell it to us and we turned it down Lee said something I never thought of before in regards to them doing that, “Why do they spend the money printing it out just to throw a majority of them out…they should sell it to you for a discount later on and make some money at least” hmm wouldn’t that be nice?!?

IMG_2029.jpg

Now I forgot to mention this earlier in the TR, but for some reason a majority of our TS meals, we ended up with a table right in a main walkway and breakfast was no different. It was LOUD and PACKED in there!! I could tell Lee was already a little put off by it all, but was happy when he saw that HUGE buffet and our server was GREAT, I wish I could remember her name.

She brought us over some juice (we decided this tastes like V8 splash :rotfl:) but we loved it and I asked if I could have chocolate milk and she said of course…well Lee’s eyes lit up and he asked if he could have some too – you would have thought it was some rare and exciting treat and the server was happy to see him get so excited!!

She even snapped a random picture of us talking at the table (yes I look rough that day :rotfl:)

IMG_2035.jpg

Now besides being in the walkway and the noise level, I am already a MESS when it comes to character buffets, because I am constantly worried I am going to miss them when they come to our tables...at one point we had a conversation like this

Lee: Ok go up and get something already

Me: I think I will wait a minute, I'm waiting for the rush to die down

Lee: Or you are scared you are going to miss Mickey is what you mean

He knows me all too well!! Next time I promised myself to slow down A LOT and just enjoy my meal and enjoy what characters I do get to see. I think I was so worried, because it was Lee’s first trip and these were the main characters and they were dressed so cute! We saw them all though…

IMG_2030.jpg

IMG_2034.jpg

IMG_2036.jpg

I have to tell you that I LOVEEEEEEE Crystal Palace breakfast, because the Pooh characters are my favorites (besides Belle), but this breakfast was hands down the best character meal and best breakfast I have personally had at WDW (and no I have never had Tonga Toast :rotfl2:) Lee agreed, there really was something for everyone here including traditional items and some different interesting items. Overall I am sooo happy we had our breakfast here and will probably return again soon :goodvibes

After we ate a huge meal and met all of our buddies we were off to the Safari! Only about a 10 minute wait…with a very loud Snooki look alike behind us...I think you can see her poofy hair in my picture waiting in line.

safari.jpg

We decided next time we are demanding to sit on the left side, because we were in a row with a family and we couldn’t really see much on the right side...the family next to us was nice though and tried to duck so we could snap some pictures :thumbsup2

Baby Giraffe

IMG_2043.jpg

Finally I see one of the lions for the first time in all my trips

IMG_2052.jpg

IMG_2053.jpg

After the safari we headed to the Pangani Forest Trail. Now I know if I had let Lee sleep in he would have been a little more excited to see the animals, but he was excited anyway – just very tired!

We came across some wonderful animals and it wasn’t too crowded at all (though some of those paths feel very crowded with just a few people on them)

I was trying to take a picture of the hippos under water when this little guy snuck right in my picture, he scared me because I didn’t see him coming

IMG_2065.jpg

We had a great viewing spot for the Gorillas and they were out and about in the heat that day…I could have stayed and watched a little longer, but Lee was ready to move on…next time he gets a scooter for AK!! I love the first picture I caught of the Gorilla, it looks like he is staring right at us.

IMG_2077.jpg

IMG_2082.jpg

After we finished there we hopped a train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch…I took very few pictures for some reason, but we took our time looking around, Lee thought the petting zoo area was funny after growing up in "the country" around farms. We snapped an owl picture for my mom who LOVES them…I know the picture is blurry, but the owl caught me off guard when he looked right at me!

IMG_2090.jpg

For some reason when we arrived back in Africa, we decided to head towards Discovery Island instead of going toward Asia. It’s Tough to be a Bug! was just starting and Lee LOVED it minus the people talking throughout the show (shhhh people shhh!!) We decided the 3d shows are a hit and Lee always gets excited telling his family about all the special effects like water spraying :3dglasses

Here we are with our bug glasses, I caught Lee mid laugh so he looks funny

IMG_2093.jpg

Up Next: We are having so much fun, so why are we screaming at each other?? (Followed up by the best dinner all week :goodvibes)

Your character breakfast sounds wonderful! I'm going to make a note of that for our next trip.

You got some great animal pictures. I especially like the one of the gorilla.

I am sure if you go you will not be disappointed...I wish I could breakfast like that every day :rotfl:

Love the pics of you guys from the character breakfast...looks like it was a lot of fun! :goodvibes

Yay...you caught a lion AWAKE! That's hard to do! :thumbsup2

I love watching the gorillas too...love the first pic you got...he does look like he's staring right at you!

Having fun, but screaming at each other??? I'm interested to hear what happens next!

Sounds like you had a good breakfast! I have eaten there for lunch, but never breakfast, so I'll have to give it a try.

Thank you :goodvibes we had a lot of fun at breakfast and Lee was very impressed by the safari too...we almost went on a second time to see if we could get a seat on the left side

:rotfl: Yes we have a habit of screaming and then laughing it off 2 minutes later...thank goodness!

Sounds like you had a good breakfast! I have eaten there for lunch, but never breakfast, so I'll have to give it a try.

I usually only eat at Flame Tree BBQ when I am at AK, but I thought why not try something new...maybe next time we will do a TS lunch there, how was lunch there?

Looks like a fun breakfast! And I'm also impressed that you saw a lion that was actually awake. I still think they're animatronic.

We'll have to go down there at the same time. You two sound very entertaining! :rotfl2:

After trying Flame Tree BBQ on the last trip, I'm not sure I need to try anything else for lunch there. :goodvibes

I know I was suprised to see one moving, of course the male lion was sleeping and trying to hide

We'll have to go down there at the same time. You two sound very entertaining! :rotfl2:

There would not be a dull moment I know that :lmao: Everyone always tell me how hilarious they think Lee is...but I tend to think I am pretty darn funny too...so two big personalities living together is well...interesting!!
