Hundreds sick in NJ High School!

Due to my weaken immune system and just getting out of rejection, I am staying in! This is the last thing that I need. I would love to go out, just anywhere, but I can not risk it. Going to take something out of the freezer and do some good ole cooking this "Cold" weekend and avoid getting sick!

Absolutely. Don't take any chances. Make sure everyone around you washes their hands frequently.

Is this something that is area related, ex: food etc. or a bad flu bug that can be spreading to other areas?? I have an asthmatic DS who when sick vomits until he receives a compazine shot. Just wondering whether it will spread into other states or is just a local thing. I hope everyone is feeling better.

Norovirus is also known as Winter Vomiting Disease - it is more normally known as the 24 hour flu or the stomach flu.
I work for a health department and investigate norovirus outbreask every year.
We actually do not like to use the term 'flu' because it is NOT influenza. Influenza (for which you can get the flu shot) is a respiratory illness - symptoms include sudden onset of fever, usually high, muscle aches and cough.
Norovirus is all GI (gastrointestinal) with cramping vomiting and diarrhea.

Neither are pleasant so get the flu shot and wash your hands
