So sad for the players and parents and families. 14 people dead and 15 injured. So sad and it hits so close to home! Praying for all involved!!

So very sad. My son had a team bus incident on a trip this past weekend (no one was hurt or anything), so it hit close to home to read this. Those poor families and players.

It’s awful. 15 deaths confirmed now, I can’t even imagine. Not only those who lost their lives, but those kids left behind as well - lives changed forever, it’s horrible. So sad.

This is absolutely heartbreaking.

Our son is heading from Victoria to Whistler in less than two weeks and the entire music group (98 kids plus 8 adults) are going by bus. If not for he fact that I am going to help supervise and I get bus sick so will be driving my car, I might have considered canceling. I am much happier knowing that I will be driving us and anyone in my vehicle will be wearing a seatbelt.

My heart breaks for the families of everyone involved.

I just watched Hockey Night... And as a mother I just found myself constantly tearing up trying not to cry. We're not a hockey family, or even a team sport family. But I'm a Mom. And my heart breaks for those 15 mothers.

As a hockey mom who has been on many bus trips, I am just heartbroken. I can't imagine how they are going to get through this.

Yes my daughter leaves for Edmonton (a 12 hour drive) on a bus this Friday. It’s scary. My grandma is friends with the grandma of on of the kids that passed. My daughter is friends with a girl from Humboldt and she knows a few of the players. I’ve been in tears just thinking about these kids. Now having to trust your kids on a bus.
So sad.

We’re a basketball family and my son lost a teammate this summer in a tragic accident. We are good friends with the family and to say it has been devastating would be a massive understatement. There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t think of him, miss him, wish there was something we could change or do for his poor parents.
With that in my heart I just ache for these parents, and the family and friends and loved ones. The loss is heartbreaking and for the boys that have survived, the suffering will be terrible. It’s all so horrible. :sad1:

It is the worst imagineable thing. I am heartsick for all those families. Strength to the parents who are bravely donating the gift of life. Will hold my children more tightly when I see them next.

As someone who was born and raised in the area, it is surreal. My family lives there. My parents are season ticket holders for the broncos. My husbands family has been a part of the team from when it first started from his Grandfather being the score keeper to Brody being the help where he could with stats and equipment and many other tasks they sked him to do. I went to school with the parents of one of the survivors, I babysat their physical therapist, and we also lost a family member in the crash. I got a call today from my mom, and she said the whole town in just in such shock and disbelief about what happened. There are hundreds of people at the arena, as it's not just Humboldt...but all the surrounding communities, and the arena is just silent. She said it was just not the place it was before.

When there is a tragedy there - which has happened on smaller scales, the whole area swoops in to help. The community will rally and come back, but it will a long time. Just cherish your family a little more, because you never know what the future holds. Just pray for the survivors and that they can get past the horrific trauma they now have to live with.

My prayers are with all the families involved. I lost two students in one year, one committed suicide and one was killed by a drive-by shooting as an innocent by-stander. My heart still aches whenever I think of them. It’s over 10 years ago. May peace be with these families soon.
