Hulk Vs. Dueling Dragons

Hello,
Let's have a contest and see who wins the race. Which is better, the Hulk, the Fire Dragon, or the Ice Dragon and why. I won't tell anyone what I think yet because I don't want to give anyone any idea's.

I definitely like the Dragons more than Hulk. I like the suspended coasters. I think the fire dragon is a little wilder ride, so I'll go with that one.

I like the Hulk because it was the first coaster to turn me into a coaster fanatic. Plus, I like launched coaster. I'll ride Dragons, though.

Hmmm, it's hard to compare an inverted with a sit-down launched. I'd have to go for Hulk.

Yeah I know it is hard to compare that is why if you had to choose, which way would your head turn. I am a launched coaster myself. I give props to the fire dragon because it is wickedly wild which I like to. I feel ice is to tame for me. Hulk is smooth and has a neat atmosphere. Fire on the other hand is fast, awsome fight between two coasters, and has some quick inversions. I would have to go with the Hulk, but if we were also judging wait times, then I would definetely go Dragons. I can actually get on it. The Hulk just has something about it that you come off so happy about. It's like when you go flying out of the Gamma Ray, you can't help but to scream. It is smooth and cool throughout the whole ride. Plus everyone has got to love that under the bridge mist.

When I can choose front row it would be a dragon coaster and I would choose Ice for the wall. Otherwise I'd choose hulk.

Hulk, definately. I love the launch too!

Oh, which rollercoaster should I take my cousin on who has NEVER BEEN TO A SINGLE THEME PARK and hasn't been on a rollercoaster before? Straight to the Hulk? lol. She said she's not afraid...but we'll see

My mom said that I might as well take her on "the real thing."

My son was a chicken always. I strongly recommend Kraken in Seaworld.

Reasons for Kraken:
- Smoothest Rollercoaster
- As you approach Kraken you do not see everything. It does not look so scary

Reasons against Hulk:
- You have to go "through" Hulk to get to the entrance, so you see the whole "horror"
- Hulk roars, which may be frightening, too (and which is done by intend as I heard)

Looking at just universal orlando because I don't know the kraken, you are better off with the ice don't you think. fire is rough, hulk is awsome but fast at the beginning that might scare him. Just try to go up the exit and go into the re-ride line so he doesn't have to go through the scary castle. It is funny, my first rollercoaster was the Hulk in 8th grade. I went on a field trip and my friends talked me into it. MY friend was like, "come on ed this will be fun don't worry about a thing, it is smooth and will be a blast and I will go on with you." I said fine so we went. I got on it and we started moving. I asked what it feels like going upside down coaster like this one. He said," I don't know, never went on one before." Here I am scared half to death and the Hulk roars and we are shot out of the gamma ray not being able to react to the shock at first. Then we went upside down for the first time and at that second I was in love. No guts no glory!

exactly. I was nearly chickening out when I did Hulk the first time. Sat in row 2, white ankles, eyes closed, waiting to be shot out and during the first drop: "oh, wow, this is FUN" and since then I LOVE coasters.

So were you warned you were going to be "shot out?" When my aunt took me on it when I was only in 6th grade, she didn't tell me and it really freaked me out. I thought it was awesome though. I was used to Busch Gardens rollercoasters and never experienced anything like the Hulk!!

I'll see what my souin is comfortable trying out. If she is determined to go on the Hulk, I'll let her. I double checked to make sure she doesn't mind trying a coaster and she said she was planning on going on one...that she wanted to try it and wasn't scared.

We'll see I won't MAKE her try the Hulk first. It's her decision. I just won't DIScourage her

I personally adore the fire dragon front row - it's the only way you get to see the faces of the other dragon flying straight at you. I believe they weigh the cars at the start and delay them appropriately so they meet at the correct points in the ride.

As for Hulk... I love the inital Gs from the blast off, and, going straight into an inverted loop is an incredible experience.

You know, after all the times I've been to Universal and IOA, I have YET to be in the front row of either the Dueling Dragons or Hulk!!

I'm a fan of the last row...it's more intense back there

Normally I'd agree... but the front cars of these coasters really do blow your mind compared to the back. The fact you can see the other coaster "attacking" you is fairly fantastic!

I would say it is a matter of personal preference at Hulk, but being in first row of the dragons is a totally new experience. You MUST try that.

i like the launch on the hulk. i love the dragons also. we rode fire first and this is what it did to me

both arms... of course being a coaster freak i went ahead and rode ice.

i think i pick the hulk out of all three... we rode front car on all of them.
