We had the best meal and experience at Raglan Road! Just had to post to share for those who needed the extra nudge to make an ADR.
We booked a reservation for Christmas Day, and it was a huge hit! My mother passed last Christmas time, and my father has been lost without her. His parents were from Ireland, and several of my sisters were big-time Irish dancers back in the day. Visiting Raglan Road on Christmas day seemed like a great way to cheer my father up, so I called 180 days out and secured a reservation. Several days before Christmas, I called the restaurant and asked if they might be able to seat us in a place where my dad could see the dancers. The nice lady on the line said that she would make a note of it and do what she could.
Well, DTD was packed on Christmas night! We arrived early and waited to check in so that we would be able to watch the entertainment, which didn't start until 6:30. An acapella group sang Christmas songs by a bench where we were waiting. My father heard a song that reminded him of my mother, and the tears were flowing.
After a short while, it was time to check in. I talked to the lady at the desk, and it would up being the same lady I spoke with earlier in the week. She gave me a buzzer and asked us to wait. When the buzzer went off, we were seated in awesome seats, right by the side of the front and middle stages. Our waiter, Patrick, must have been in on the treat, because he couldn't have been more kind or personable.
Our food and service was fantastic, and the dancing was excellent! The musicians were wonderful, and the whole crowd clapped and cheered when the sets were done! Best of all, my father had a fantastic time!
We're so grateful to the staff of Raglan Road for giving our family a new, happy Christmas memory!
