Huge Family Vacation Ideas

I have taken on the responsibility of planning our family vacation at Disney World! It is approximately 40 people fight now - more may join later. We are doing the land/sea package during the month of February 2007. I am planning to give them all of the information they need to do what they want during the day but would like to plan one special event per night.

Please let me hear any suggestions you may have on events, perks, discounts.

that's alot of planning. There is the magical gatherings at WDW. You can look to see what is available. There are different types of gatherings. For 40 people, that's alot of planning. For sea, I take it you are on the Disney Magic. I have been on that cruise and I would check with DCL to see what they have for suggestions. You can all be at the same dinner time and place, hopefully near each other, so nightly it would be a big family dinner. Maybe you can plan a group shore excursion. That could also be fun.

Well I do not know anything about DCL but as far as WDW.

I would try to put togethter a package of DVC units with at least one GRand Vills(12 people to sleep) so that people would have a place to gather. Next, I would gather cell phone numbers so that everyone has a list.

Then I would make an (everyone is going to do this list) and a ( if you are looking for something to do ) list. On the "everyone" list, I would choose one nice sit down reservation and one day to go to a water park together.

On the "looking for something"list, I would put a theme park suggestion and an end of day event. Do not try to have everyone do the same thing for very much of the day. Also, if you have a villa,there could be a stay at home activity--nice meal,everyone swims together, surry bikes etc option.

WE have only done 20 people and that was fun but some people's feelings were hurt that we were not doing everything together..

I would see if there is any info at the Disney web-site for Magical Gatherings that you would find useful. Maybe use a Disney travel agent?
