This park is all about stairs. I mean, the trip down takes what? 8 seconds, 11 at the most. But getting back up to the top is about 312 steps, which can be roughly 4 to 12 minutes of your life, depending on what kind of shape you’re in, how strong your quadriceps are, and how strong you possess the will to climb. Blizzard Beach, we quickly realized, is not for the weak. Nope, the weak ones here park themselves at the lounge chairs or sleep in the lazy river. Good thing Dan is 85 pounds lighter than our last trip. He never would have been able to handle this.

I feel your pain...I've been putting off the trip to the Disney water parks for the mere reason that I don't feel the urge to scar young children while they are having a relaxing vacation...

But you my dear, have nothing to worry about. You are adorable.

Ah Wendy, I am loving your report, but throughout from day one I have been feeling your pain for your (smoking) Dan. My ex smoked and, at risk for being flamed severely here, it was a major pain that only worsened with each passing year. It got so old to always have him wander off after meals for a smoke, get antsy in the movie theater (READ: grouchy) because it was nicotime time, or come to bed smelling like an ashtray after that "end of day" cigarette.

Plea to Dan - please stop!!! It is an awful habit that is controlling you and shortening your life, not to mention putting your relationship and Wendy at risk. There are so many stop-smoking aides around today - call the doctor or a nearby hospital to find what works for you. It will be the best gift you ever gave her or yourself.

Ah Miss Hucifer, just magnifico, you capture moments like I was there myself, it feels like I was really there. As for Dan, sounds like great guy, so little bad to say about him. Hope he kicks bad habit, but guess he could have worse habits. Keep stories coming, am so enjoying this.

Shareing a ski lift jsut doesn't sound good. On our last typhoon lagoon trip we had to share the family raft with a single rider...I do not want anyone else sitting next to me in a bathing suit..that problem is only for my son and hubbie not complete and total (not to mention skinny) strangers.

I am sooo scared of the water parks after your great report! I am not skinny, I look awful in a bathing suit, and I really hate climbing stairs. That being said - I have promised DD we would do a water park every time we go. (We got all the way to the entrance of BB 2 trips ago only to find out that our tix were not good for water parks and the credit card was back in the hotel safe so I wouldn't spend any more. I was safe last Christmas because it was just too darn messy on the day we had scheduled.) I guess I really have to take her this time, huh? Do you really have to share rides with other families??? (yeah, there's just the 2 of us for this trip)
