Hucifer and Dan's flipping huge trip report *Last 3 days/Epilogue! 10/9, pgs 36-38*

Hey Wendy, don't fret about the water shoes. Sheridac won't admit it, but she wears 'em too. They are Jimmy Choo's, but still. They ARE water shoes.

Feeling the love, except for where you're calling me slow. I'm pretty sure I've posted TWO updates in the past week. Oh yeah, so did you. Ok, it's a race. Who will be the next to update?

“Ladies and Gentlemen, due to inclement weather, all slides and attractions will be temporarily closed,” said the bodiless loudspeaker voice of Blizzard Beach World. “Please move away from the sandy areas until the weather has cleared. Thank you.”

Ah, yes, but was the message then repeated in spanish? Everybody now...

"Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor, mantenganse alajedo de las puertas." and you have to say it with the exact tone and timbre of that most interesting commentator voice...

And repeat.

My new mantra...

oh no! I'm at the end! Loving every word and admiring the great companionship you two are for each other!
By the by- I, too, rode the "unexplained infertility" roller coaster, and as you can see, it's never a matter or if it will happen, but when!

I just spent the afternoon reading your TR...you have a great talent!
Now..where's the next installment?

Ah yes, one might say I like your husband, he seems to be wonderful guy. Back in old country, Italy of course, we spend many nights hanging with the guys, sharing stories. One might say I feel like one in the same with husband. As we say in old country "Un amico è come un il fratello, parte della famiglia", which means, one friend is like ones brother, part of the family.

But Miss Hucifer, just love your report, I can't say it enough how you make me feel like I was there with you myself!

Uh-Uh, Kimmie, NO WAY!!!

I wear 3 inch wedge sandals with the cuuutest little straps that wrap around the ankle!!!!

Your hubby reminds me of someone, but I can't place it and it's driving me crazy. He looks like....Ugh! I can't remember! (no caveman pun intended)
Help me out here...

This has been driving me crazy all afternoon...but I finally placed your husband's famous look-alike. Gillman from Regis and Kelly! I don't know if he's still on it, but he was/is the producer. That is meant in the most complimentary way to your hubby. Enjoying the trip report.

WOW!

What a wonderful trip report. Sadly, now, I am caught up and anxiously awaiting your next installment. In the mean time, am thinking I need to re-adjust my thinking for our next trip ... if hucifer is concerned about HER bathing suit appearance and if watershoes & hip pouches are that gouche, I'm in trouble!

Looking forward to the next installment!

I've caught up enough to post. I remember enjoying your 1st report, Wendy, and this one is even better! Your writing style and witty storytelling are so great! And I'm saving your BB description so I will know what to try out when we go.

Can't wait for the next installment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(for Sher)

Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

See? I told you Wendy. You just have to imagine Gelman with Blonde hair cause he's gone dark again. But that was the first thing I thought of when I saw that picture of Dan on the first page.

After lunch, crowds continue to build. Dan and I are standing in line for the Toboggan Racers. I am behind him and notice that his shoulders are starting to look a bit pinkish. “Are you wearing any sunscreen?” I ask him.

“No,” he says.

“Well why NOT?”

I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and face a woman in her 40s. “Because he’s a man,” she says.

“Amen to that,” I say and laugh. “Tomorrow he’s going to be in pain and wonder why.”

“I won’t wonder,” Dan says back to us.

I looked at the woman and rolled my eyes. She gives me an understanding look, one that only wives can share. Men!

This exchange cracked me up. I can see it just like I'm standing there with you, sunburned and tired. And also a member of the Rolling Eyes Wives Club.

You keep rockin' that fanny pack, Wendy. Besides the obvious fashion statement that you're making, it can really come in handy if you ever decide to hop on Body Wars.

Yikes!

Soooo sorry about the delay folks. I was out of town for two weeks on a work assignment in San Jose California. There are worse places they could have sent me. That place is gorgeous!

I MEANT to leave an installment before I left, but packing two weeks' worth of stuff took about a week (see first installment regarding my Overpackers Anonymous Carholder status). Time slipped away from me, and before I knew it, I was on a plane to sunny CA. And no, I did NOT have access to the internet for TWO WHOLE WEEKS. I was jones'in for some DISboards big time as most of you can imagine.

Alright, I'll throw up another mini installment in the meanwhile.

Oh...but before that...just wanted to shout out to all the newbies who are gracing my report. Thanks for reading, enjoying, posting. It's fun to read your replies. Even if I don't respond to each one, I enjoy each one. Thank you!

And LaLa...how funny is that? Another person who thinks Dan looks like Gelman.

Here’s the scenario:

We are staying at Shades of Green but we take the Polynesian transportation because it is more frequent. The SOG bus comes once an hour to BB. The Poly bus comes 3 times an hour. Again, I’m no mathematician, but it seems like catching the Poly bus might be statistically easier. Now, the SOG bus stop is located nearest to the entrance of BB, and the Poly bus is a bit of a hike down the parking lot (especially when you’ve been climbing stairs all day and have exhausted your backup energy supply).

We walk out of the BB turnstiles at 5:05. I tell Dan that the SOG bus comes to BB on the half-hour, so why don’t we take the Poly bus? We walk all the way down to the Poly bus stop and wait with the other Poly folks. We are waiting around 15 minutes or so and it seems like it’s taking forever. We must have just missed the Poly bus when we arrived here. Dan suggests that since the 5:30 Shades of Green bus is coming, let’s walk back there and take the bus directly to our resort. Seemed like a good idea. So we walk all the way down back to the SOG bus stop and sit down. That’s funny, no one else is here. Well, maybe that’s because no one else from SOG is at BB at this time. So we sit and wait. And wait. 5:30 comes and goes. No SOG bus. Where is that bus, anyway?

I reached into my bag and pull out the bus schedule. No, my bad. The SOG bus comes to BB on the HOUR, which means we missed it by about 5 minutes when we left the park, and the next one isn’t coming until 6pm. So I suggest that we take the Poly bus.

We then walk all the way back to the Poly bus stop. Everyone is gone. Great. The Poly bus has already come and gone. That means that Dan’s brilliant idea to take the SOG bus just cost us a free ride back. Now it’s 5:40 we’re faced with another decision: do we wait for the next Poly bus and have to walk back to our resort, or do we wait the twenty minutes and get a bus directly back to our resort?

We decide on the latter, so we hike all the way back to the SOG bus stop.

By now, the parking lot has been cleared of guests. BB cast members are walking to their cars to leave for the day. They are staring at us, wondering why we are still there. One of them even called out to us, “Do ya need to call a cab?” That’s how pathetic we looked.

Look away, we’re hideous.

So we have a seat back at the SOG bus stop. And we wait. And wait. And then we see the Poly bus drive right past us, empty. But we can’t second-guess our decision now. We are determined to wait those 10 extra minutes so that the SOG bus can take us directly to our resort…and isn’t that loads better than taking the stupid Poly bus? Especially after all the friggin walking and climbing we did today?

We can only hope that the SOG will come back for us at all. Looking around the empty parking lot and the lack of guests, we pray that decision to not call a cab wasn’t a bad one.

Fortunately, the SOG does come at 6pm. The driver looked pretty shocked to see us waiting there. “I didn’t think anyone was left here,” she said to us as we crawled onto the bus.

Yeah, yeah, we know. Because of a series of bad decisions, we’re leaving the park a whole hour later than we should. That’s us, Idiots Extraordinaire.
