Hey y'all! There's some Texas twang for ya! It's been a super busy week! I swear, I'd love to start school one year with a little less inservice stuff. Plus J and I went to the doc today. Silly me thought it was the ultrasound to find out the sex, but that's with a different doctor (geez! don't I feel dumb!). So we should find out a week from Monday! Can't wait!!!
On to the trip report! Monday morning, we got up, actually I got up around 6:10 with a wake-up call from Stitch and Mickey! That's one way to get someone outta bed! Poor J was sooooo tired! It took him forever to get up! Kind of reminded me of a Disney cartoon with Mickey, Donald, & Goofy on a road trip. Donald just can't get up and sits on the end of the bed and rubs his eyes. Maybe also that Donald is J's favorite character...
We ordered a few grocery items from Garden Grocer and were able to have breakfast on our (big!) balcony! Granted it was just cereal but how could you not LOVE waking up to this!?!
We finally made it out the door around 7:20, which was a little later than I had planned. Hollywood Studios (sidenote, this is still a little hard for me to say since the few times I went as a kid it was always MGM, old habits die hard, hehe!) had Extra Magic Hours that morning and I knew it would be packed! We decided to walk since it was only about a mile. Although we did have to stop on the Boardwalk for a cup of coffee. Poor J just did not have the natural (Disney!) energy that I did!
We got to DHS around 7:50 and the crowds were not necessarily small...
What made things a little more difficult was that it was already hot before 8:00am! J is not one for the heat, even though we live in the south!
"Who's getting frustrated?"
I think his dream is to move up north someday. Whether that be the northeast or the northwest doesn't matter! HA!
Anyway, the gates opened and we headed straight to Toy Story Mania! Thanks to these wonderful Boards, I told J we needed to ride first and, if we liked it get a FastPass! So we did! The standby line was maybe 10 minutes!!
I really enjoyed walking around in here. Not only was it nice and cool it brought back so many childhood memories!
And we LOVED it!! Being a boy, J kicked my rear at this game!!
That's ok, that's ok! We'll get a FP and have a rematch!
By this time there was still a little wait at the FP line, but no biggie. The standby line was already to an hour!
The area around TSM is soooo cool! How fun would it be to a designer for this kind of stuff!
Afterwards we walked over to Sunset Blvd to check out Rockin' Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror.
These were two rides I knew I wouldn't be able to ride.
I rode ToT last time I went and remember loving it! But RnRC was new. So J and I waited in line for RnRC and, again, I took the chicken exit. J LOVED this ride. In fact, he wouldn't shut up about it! After about 10 minutes of him going on and on and on about it I gave him a little pouty face to which he assured me we would come back when I wasn't in the prego condition....someday! Great. Does that mean someday SOON!?!
We then walked over to ToT and J wasn't sure if he was feeling it. Growing up, J apparently was a bit of a chicken. He told me he would have never riden these kind of rides. I guess his stomach/nerves have changes as he matured! Since he was reluctant about ToT we decided to head over towards Star Tours!
I had heard this ride was not recommended for pregos, but just to be certain I asked the lady up front and she said no. Dang!! Oh well, I still wanted J to go on it. We pretty much walked through with no wait. Lots of cool things inside. I didn't have a chance to take any pics cause we just walked straight through.
So I stood in line and took the chicken exit...again! Guess this is gonna be my theme for the trip, eh?
To my surprise, J was not really impressed with Star Tours.
I remember loving this as a kid! He did point out that compared to his last ride (RnRC) this one was just small potatoes. He also had a not-so-great seat on the far side. Oh well, maybe we'll try it again on our next trip!
The Muppets 3-D was close so we walked on over to watch it. There were literally no people in the audience so we could sit wherever we wanted. In the middle section we go! It was really cute, a little dated, but I still loved it! Come on! It's the Muppets! I grew up watching and loving them!!
We walked around that area for a little bit and I found the umbrella!!
I almost forgot how to make it rain, but some nice gentleman said to step on the mat! Duh!
We then headed back towards Sunset Blvd since we could FPs for another ride (it had been two hours since we got out FP for TSM although we coudn't yet ride it, confusing I know). We got one FP for RnRC and one for ToT. I told J even if he didn't want to ride it at least he would have the chance.
Up next! Our yummy lunch at Sci-Fi, Toy Story - Round 2!, and J's ultimate decision regarding the Tower of Terror!!
