HSM3 Party

DD11 started a new charter school this year and is having a little difficulty making new friends so we may have a HSM3 party to get a few of them together. The biggest problem with this middle school is that kids from as far away as one hour attend there so "play dates" are going to be difficult.

My idea is to send out invites for a few of the girls to be picked up by me at school on the 24th when the movie premiers and extend the invite for a sleepover for the parents who are okay with it. We'll have pizza here and then go to the 7 pm movie. For parents who don't want their child to sleep at a strangers house (because that is what I am, lol) they can pick them up at the theatre maybe.

Anyways, I've looked for HSM3 supplies online but haven't seen anything. I don't want to spend $ at the party store, I'm looking for something that I can download. A few years back we had a Nick Choice Awards party and the website had invites, menu ideas, party games, etc. Has anyone seen anything like this for HSM3 or have any ideas for me?

I like the idea of a HSM party also because it's going to separate the kids from the more mature sixth graders from the less mature, the ones still interested in HSM being the less mature:thumbsup2 There appears to be an imaginary dividing line between the girls who are into boys and have a bit more freedom than DD does and the ones who are still "young in thinking", IYKWIM? I'm doing my best to keep her young and innocent but I know my time is running out, really running out, like I might have a few months at most:scared1: before she begins acting like the adolescent that she is, begging for a cell phone, spending hours chatting with her girlfriends, taking 30 minute showers, all that fun stuff:laughing:

off topic but just make sure that you put on the invite whether or not you are paying for the tickets to the movies and if they need to bring $$ for popcorn/drinks

thanks danielle, I haven't quite decided what to do about that just yet. I'm thinking of having the girls buy their tickets (it's $5 here) and I can splurge on the popcorn for everyone. You can get those big buckets to share for about the same price as the small individual ones I think. Do you think it's tacky to ask them to pay for their ticket? It's not a birthday party or anything like that and I have no problem with pizza/popcorn/breakfast but...

i really don't think so because think about the kid is paying 5 dollars for all this fun

and i know more close to the release date their will be stuff on the site about hsm3 premier parties it has great stuff like special HSm themed foods

anyways good luck!

Oh, so you think they'll be stuff on the website a bit later? I'll keep checking back. It's less than 3 weeks away so I thought I'd find something already.

Just posted some great pix and fun ideas on the party planning site mixmingleglow(dot)com for a HSM3 premiere party we designed for a client.

Just an update on our HSM party last night. DD asked around to find out who liked (or admitted liking) HSM and gave out five invites and everyone came. I picked them up at school yesterday, we went to the late afternoon show and everyone loved the movie. I thought it was good and easily the best of the three.

We came home and made english muffin pizzas and had brownies and ice cream for dessert. I went to bed at 11, at midnight DD said two of the girls didn't feel good and were calling their parents to come get them which they did. Both of these girls were students with Alex throughout elementary school. Hopefully, they just ate too much but we haven't found out yet:confused3

So, three "new" girls stayed the night and Alex was invited to a playdate at one of the girls homes. It turns out they live only a few miles from here:thumbsup2 and she seems sweet and "young". I met her parents today when they dropped her off and they've invited her to go trick-or-treating with them. The other two girls seem very nice as well. One of the mothers is the special ed director at the school they all attend and knows DD pretty well from field trips she has chaperoned.

So, HSM was good, the party was good, and DD is making some new friends -- it's all good here today:rotfl:

PS: I was able to print out invites from the website and a little "quiz" before they saw the movie to vote on what they thought might happen. Fun, fun.

That sounds like a lot of fun, I am glad it worked out!
