Just wondering what everyone thought of it.

I took DD9 and her two friends to see it. I thought it was nice on the big screen and the new songs were good according to the kids.

As a mom, I would have preferred shorter skirts:rolleyes: especially during the dance scenes. All the girls ranked this one as #2 and the original HSM as the best one.

I haven't seen it yet. We are going tomorrow. Just wondering why you would want the girls to wear shorter skirts? As a mom of daughters, the longer the skirts, the better.

I took my boys yesterday afternoon and they loved it. They have been singing "The Boys are Back" all morning.

OMG, I meant to say longer skirt:lmao:

I was going to type they were too short and I got my words mixed up..... My bad:rotfl2:

Maybe it was because it was on the big screen that I noticed the skirt length and the girls even said no one in HS would wear that kind of clothes to school.

We all thought that was the best song and the best scene in the movie! Those two are two very talented dancers.

And I agree about the skirt length, especially for Gabriella. Sharpay is supposed to be over the top, but I would expect Gabriella to be a bit more modest. When she and Troy were dancing, I was afraid we were going to see more than we bargained for!

I took my ds and dd to see it last night. I have to agree the dresses needed to be a bit longer. Thought it was great tho and can't wait to see the new pep rally at wdw in Nov

We loved it and I agree about the skirts!! also-in 'The Boys are Back' that one part brought tears to my eyes..don't want to give it away..

My kids and I loved it! Very predictable but I love how true Disney stuck to the great morals of the orginal movie. I was a bit worried when I heard it was coming to the big screen.
If you have HSM groupies you must see it!
So what will the new HSM show or pep rally be at disney studios?? Has there been any info released. When does it open??

LOL that's too funny. I was wondering why a mom would say that the skirts should be shorter.

We saw it yesterday, me and my little one had a date. It was really cute, and it actually almost made me tear up! :lmao: I had read about the skirts on here before going, so I was actually looking for an overwhelming amount of bad fashion, but I didn't flinch at what they went for. It seemed Sharpay's skirts were a little short, but I don't think anything terribly bad for a movie. Other than that, I didn't see anything bad. I loved the boys song, that was adorable!

We saw it yesterday. I agree the "Boys" song and dancing was the best.
I felt that at times, it lacked cohesive theme. The first two had more of a script and the songs fit into the movie. I felt that this movie was just the opposite. The movie fit into the dance numbers. Although maybe it felt that way because I was going in and out of the theatre taking dd to the bathroom.
Overall, it was cute and dds loved it.

DH and I braved it today and took DD11 and six of her schoolfriends as a belated birthday party (she turned 11 on the 16th and it came out on the 22nd here in England)

We took up an entire row in our local cinema and filled two thirds of the tables in subway afterwards (not to mention confused the hell out of the counter staff with 9 subs  )

I did enjoy it, can't say we'd have gone without the kids to see it but I'm not kicking myself at the fact i have to take DS5 and DD4 to see it with my nephews in a week or so (today was girls day out!)

I did like the fact they stuck with the morals of it all and that it didn't turn into some gushing romance but they did what parents would encourage- I sat their gritting my teeth hoping against hope that it wouldn't turn into something where they gave up their dreams to stay together!... I was 99% certain Dis would never send that message but being as we're really college motivated for dd11 i was so hoping she'd see her favorite characters make life smart decisions too!

We went to see it Friday night and we all loved it. We all agreed that it was the best one so far. :)

HAHAHA! I just thought that you were being "SARCASTIC" about the skirts! The entire dance scene with Troy and Gabriella on the roof in the rain....I just kept waiting to get :scared1: "FLASHED!" All I could think about was "I wonder how many takes they had to do of just this scene.........." :lmao:

I went to see it today with my 6 yr old brother 9 yr old and 11 yr old cousins. I LOVE it, but then I'm a big HSM fan anyways. Within the next week or two I have to go back and take my cousins who are 8 and 9 and their 5 yr old sister. I'm actually looking froward to seeing it again.

Yep, we saw it. It was hard to watch because the tween sin the movie theatre ran up and down the aisles the entire time the movie was on! Dd said she thought it was the best one but I like the original. Seemed to be more dancing in this one. Loved the song and scene with Troy and Gabriella on the rooftop.

DH and I were just discussing the fact that I want to take DDs (4 & 6) to see it because they have been in love with the first two for quite some time. He just started giving me a hard time saying they are too young for that kind of movie - a little late now that they've watched it over and over and we bought them a DS game about it, don't ya' think?! :confused3

Anyway, he's acting like he doesn't want me to take them to see it, but honestly, I've been waiting for it to come out almost as anxiously as they have!

Many of you mentioned that they stuck to the original moral conduct as in the previous two, does that mean that there isn't any make out scenes or talk still? That really impressed me with the first two and I'm hoping it is still the case in this one. It's really the only reason I let them watch it to begin with. Other Disney channel shows have me upset with the young age they are dating and talking about making out and how the opposite sex is hot. So HSM has been refreshing to me. Can anyone tell me more detail about that kind of stuff in the new movie?

We went yesterday and loved it! I loved all the dancing and singing. I can't decide which is my favorite...this one or the original one. To the PP, there is one scene where they kiss but that is it. Such a good wholesome movie for the kids!
