HSM 3- did you see it?

Loved it! DD has loved HSM for a while now and we were counting down the days until 3 came out. (She will turn 4 on Thursday) About the dresses...many women dancers wear dresses while dancing and have the leotard like panties underneath. Many talented kids in these movies. Very fun to watch. Love the real chemistry between Zac and Vanessa :lovestruc . These two are too cute.

DH and I were just discussing the fact that I want to take DDs (4 & 6) to see it because they have been in love with the first two for quite some time. He just started giving me a hard time saying they are too young for that kind of movie - a little late now that they've watched it over and over and we bought them a DS game about it, don't ya' think?! :confused3

Anyway, he's acting like he doesn't want me to take them to see it, but honestly, I've been waiting for it to come out almost as anxiously as they have!

Many of you mentioned that they stuck to the original moral conduct as in the previous two, does that mean that there isn't any make out scenes or talk still? That really impressed me with the first two and I'm hoping it is still the case in this one. It's really the only reason I let them watch it to begin with. Other Disney channel shows have me upset with the young age they are dating and talking about making out and how the opposite sex is hot. So HSM has been refreshing to me. Can anyone tell me more detail about that kind of stuff in the new movie?

I took my(dd) 5 and (ds) 9 year old they loved it my DD was dancing the whole time and there was only one kiss through the whole movie I love the fact they really dont bring sex into the movie at all

Took DD (8yo) & DS (4yo) to see it today and we all loved it!!!! :) I was looking forward to seeing it as much as DD who is a big HSM fan. It was so cute DD cried a bit at the scenes with Troy and Gabriella saying "good-bye" and missing each other. We all loved the singing and dancing. DD is already looking forward to the DVD!!

Yes, like others I love how Disney has kept it very wholesome and G-rated, it is very nice to know you can bring little kids to the movie theater and have no fear of what will occur on screen.

Three cheers to HSM3, well done!

My mom and I took my kids and their cousins to see it today (girls 14, 13, 5) and boys (13, 9, 9) and it was well liked by all. :thumbsup2

I took my 2 Girl scout troops yesterday--- 23 people. They are 1st and 4th grades. We had a lot of fun. I made treat bags for each girl which I can't believe I was able to take in (they were the large plastic handle bags with the HSM characters on them that they sell at Walmart for $.50 as Halloween goodie bags.) I had run off coloring pages and activity pages (because we got there an hour and a half before the show to make sure we all got seats together.) So those were in there, crayons, lots of candy (including HSM3 chocolates and HSM cheese and crackers) a bag of popcorn, a drink and lots of other candies and stuff. I walked in with 19 bags like that, I can't believe they didn't stop me. The kids were excited to see Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale have new movies coming out. So anyway, the funny part...

The one part when Troy walks into the locker room at night and takes his shirt off (you see it from behind), behind me I hear my DD6 say "Woah!" Everyone around me is laughing, I'm like "where does she get this???" SHE'S SIX!!! Anyway, it was soooo funny. To hear her say what all the teenage girls were thinking was funny. It was fun to go with a big group like that.

Don't flame me but I liked it the least of the 3. Not that I didn't like it, but I just enjoyed the others a bit more. My kids loved it as I knew they would and are ready to see the 4th one. Maybe the key is I have to see it over and over like I have the other 2 :lmao: in which case I will be on my way to liking it even more on Tuesday. My DH got free tickets so we are going to take them to see it again-- free is free,!

I took my daughter Friday night. I didn't like the second, but this one was ok. The original is still my fave, although I'm too old to like any of them....lol.
I couldn't get the "high school musical" song out of my head today. Ugh.

Took DD8 this morning! We loved it! I actually teared up during the scene on the stage where they were all saying what their plans were. And at the end. I had heard about Monique and Ashley crying at the end of filming and I'm a major sap anyways! I thought the dancing was amazing better than the other movies. I will take DD again if we have time. $4 a piece at the local AMC theater. It was more for a popcorn and soda than the admission price.
I wish there were going to be more of these movies. My daughter is majorly interested in doing musical theatre now. I did it in high school and may see about getting her involved later this year or next summer. We listen to the soundtrack in the car and sing with it!
IMDB has a rating and I can see that a bunch of people gave it a 1 out of 10 so the ranking is only 2.7! I have a feeling that was a planned attack on the movie.
:banana: :cool1: popcorn:: :yay: :cheer2:

I took DD and her best friend, along with DS, after school on Friday. The girls loved it....cried at one point....and voted it their 2nd favorite one.

:goodvibes My husband and I took the girls 3 and 7 for the 3 o'clock showing on Friday. :cutie: We are HSM groupies for sure...probably flashbacks from our Grease days!!! :rotfl2: We invited another family to go with us and they also have two girls 4 and 8! I could not believe that neither of the parents had seen HSM 1 OR 2! :scared1: At one point, the mom leans over and sighs, "oh no, another song!" I said..."it's called High School MUSICAL!" She replies it's not as cool as Grease...ugh!:rotfl: I reminded her that OUR parents didn't like Grease, and that their parents didn't like West Side Story. This is just our girls generational musical!!! I have been laughing about that conversation all weekend!!! :lmao:

Oh, yeah...we LOVED the movie and also rated it our second fav next to #1!!

I noticed that anytime there was a short skirt, they always had dance shorts, cheerleading shorts, or bike shorts underneath. Therefore the skirt length didn't bother me at all...and I am VERY conservative when it comes to that!

I love that Gabriella wears dresses, and that they are modest and lovely (up top especially)....instead of "cut down to there" wear.

What blew me away was the amount of sheer talent on the screen...even down to the bit players. That and the MUSCLES in those girls' legs!!:worship:

And I loved the theme...choosing what your heart wants you to do, following YOUR dreams instead of your parents'.... but doing so respectfully.

We loved it...I want to see it again on the big screen before it comes out on DVD....

Oh! For the pp who wondered about romantic content. VERY well done. Troy and Gabriella finally DO kiss, but it is two mild and modest lip-no-tongue kisses, and very appropriate to the show. Kind of a sweet "awwww" moment, kwim?

Chad asks Taylor to the prom in a slightly disrespectful way, and she MAKES him re-ask in a VERY respectful manner...wonderful role modeling for girls.

Troy also treats Gabriella VERY respectfully during the entire movie...opening the truck door for her, etc....

OMG, I meant to say longer skirt:lmao:

I was going to type they were too short and I got my words mixed up..... My bad:rotfl2:

Maybe it was because it was on the big screen that I noticed the skirt length and the girls even said no one in HS would wear that kind of clothes to school.

Hehehehehe. That is really funny!! :rotfl2:

I have not gone to see this movie yet, but I am glad you enjoyed it!

We loved it and I agree about the skirts!! also-in 'The Boys are Back' that one part brought tears to my eyes..don't want to give it away..

Yes, that was very cool.

Also, if you don't want to be spoiled about a major plot point, don't look too closely at the Target circular from yesterday's paper.

took my girls saturday afternoon and they loved it...as for me it was ok.
all they have sang for the last 2 days is "i want it all" thanks sharpey. well now we have to buy the sound track so we can all sing out LOUD in the kitchen.

I took my DS and DD on Sat. My DD really enjoyed it. She was dancing and clapping for the last scene. When we got home I handed her the CD for the movie. She was thrilled. I thought the movie was really good. My sister did not like it??
I hit Target today for the HSM Gabriella doll for 9.99. Will save for Christmas.

As a mom, I would have preferred shorter skirts:rolleyes: especially during the dance scenes. All the girls ranked this one as #2 and the original HSM as the best one.

I totally agree!!!

I liked it. The clothing was the only complaint I had. It is my 2nd pick as well behind the original. I must say it was very good, but at times I felt it was over the top. I thought it was totally worth my $9.

Ok, I can't be the only one who was slightly annoyed with the fact that Gabriella let Troy sneak up to her room to bring her pizza, right?

The girl next to me (was almost 12) and turned to her mom and said, "Are you serious?" My sister was 11, and it didn't really hit her. But the 12 year old got it.

I laughed when all the girls "Eeewwweeeddd" at the kiss and Troy's shirtless backside sequence. Maybe we just had a LOT of little girl's in our theater.
