HS to Contemporyary ...

We would like to have dinner at CA Grill at the Contemporary during our visit and watch the MK fireworks. My plan is to head to the Cont after Fantasmic but not sure if I would have time to get over there.

Here is a rough itinerary ... please let me know if you see a better way to be at the Cont in time to see Wishes.

2/29 - AK (hrs 9am-5pm) then to MK for the 24 hour leap year celebration
3/1 - EP (hrs 8am-9pm)
3/2 - MK (hrs 9am-8pm)
3/3 - HS (hrs 9am-7pm)...Would we have enough time to get to the Cont after Fantasmic at HS?? What would be the best/quickest way to do this?

Take the bus from DHS to the Contemporary. That is pretty much the only way to do it. Besides getting a taxi. If you route through another park, it will take too much time. Just take the bus directly there.

It's going to depend on what time you make the dinner reservation for. I'd make it for at least 45 minutes after Fantasmic ends. An hour for extra safety, if you are leaving the park at closing time. I don't know what time Wishes is scheduled for so I am not sure you would be able to reconcile this timing with Wishes. If your intent is to see Wishes from your seat you have to reserve a time at least an hour before Wishes, because after that time nobody who has a window table is likely to give it up.

Wishes is at 8, so is it too risky to try to watch a 7pm show at HS and then make a 7:45 ADR at Contemporary?

If you get a 7:45 reservation at CG with Wishes at 8 there is pretty much no way you will get a view table. You may have to make a special request to even be let up to the restaurant before the fireworks. It will depend on how full the place is.

So I can't say it will work out the way you want it to work out even if you get there. I do know there is the possibility of bus delays at park closings, as a lot of guests are trying to catch the buses at that time. The 7 PM show will not be over until around 7:20 to 7:30. Then you will have to get out of the theater and the park with the closing crowds. Then you will have to get on a bus. If the bus has to load scooters or wheelchairs, that will take longer. The Contemporary will likely be the first stop but I don't think it's likely the bus will get you there in such a short time.

Fantasmic is a 25 minute show.

So, let's say, you are seated in the very back row for F! and you leave just as the last note sounds. You're in the front of the pack exiting the park. It's still going to take you at least 5 minutes, if not closer to 10 minutes to get out of the park.
That means you have 10 -15 minutes to get to the Contemporary and get up to Cali Grill for a 7:45 ADR. Even if you're driving you own car, I would think this would be next to impossible. If you take a cab, it's a very slim maybe, and you would have to be hustling out of the park and up in to Contemporary. If you're doing Disney transportation, there's no way you'll make it.

I think you'll have better luck doing this after you day at AK. Then you can hit MK after you dinner for your overnightter.

There is no way you would be able to do this. I don't know why you would even want the stress of trying.
There is no guarantee that you will be able to get a 7:45 ADR at Ca Grill.
It is highly unlikely you would be seated until after Wishes is over regardless, if you have a 7:45 ADR and Wishes is at 8. No one is leaving their table until after the fireworks. Remember an ADR is not a traditional reservation. They are not holding a table for you at 7:45, You just get the next available table for your party size.
You may not even be let upstairs until after Wishes.
You will never make it to CR after the 25 minute Fantasmic by 7:30 to check in for your 7:45 ADR. You probably won't even be out of the studios by 7:30. WDW is huge. And everyone else is leaving HS at exactly the same time as you. You may/will probably have to wait for more than one bus too.
I would come up with a different plan

At this time you probably cannot get a reservation at the CG for those dates .

Anyway, all four nights Fantasmic! is at 7:00 and Wishes! is at 8:00. It is highly unlikely that you could be out of DHS by 7:45, and no way that you could even be at the CR by 8:00.
