What shows ect. Go on at HS at night? This is our first trip. Are they worth it? I was planning on doing EMH-A.M and leave around 2-3 to spend the rest of the day at the resort we will have a long day the day before at EPCOT and then AK the following day so I kinda wanted to relax after some time at HS. I'm wondering now though if I'm going to cause the kids to miss out on something good by doing this.

Fantasmic is an amazing Disney character themed show and the other option is a Star Wars projection and fireworks show.

As they say, you can't see everything in one trip (or even in several trips!) I had to bail on our evening plans at HS for similar reasons- its our travel day, and we will be getting up super early that morning to make our flight - so it is going to be a long day no matter what. My little one is usually in bed by 7:30 or so, and things don't go well when she is short of sleep. As much as I'm sure we would all enjoy Fantasmic, avoiding a meltdown and being able to get up early and do the next day with plenty of energy just has to win this trip for us.

Star Wars fireworks/projection show is our favorite to watch right behind Wishes which is ending this week. They also do Fantasmic which has a ton of characters, fireworks, lasers, water screens..it's another good show.

We like Star Wars a Galactic Spectacular and Fantasmic over Illuminations, and way over Rivers of Lights.

Yeah - which is not to say that they wouldn't think that Fantasmic or the SW Fireworks were super awesome, but you just have to weigh the cost vs benefit. For us a 1/2 hour super cool show wouldn't be worth the preceding 2+ hours of crankiness and likely post-show wailing. Also, my kids are as excited about the hotel pool as any given ride or show at Disney, so pool time and chilling out is a good use of time too.

Depending on where you are staying you might be able to see some of the fireworks from DHS. My kids were fine with seeing them from the hotel since they prefer the shows at Epcot and MK in person.

We are staying at AoA if I'm correct It's far from all the parks.

You could always take a long break and just go back around 7:00 for the evening shows. My crew loves Star Wars so we enjoy the fireworks/projections, and we try to see Fantasmic! every trip but sometimes it does not work out.

Yeah we could plan for that and if no one feels up to it o. If the kids are in a bad mood we could just skip it.

We stayed at Pop Century which is over the bridge from AOA and we could see them from there. They even piped in the music by the bridge. So you have lots of options! That is one thing I have learned over the years with the kids is I make tentative plans but set realistic expectations with myself that they may not go as I planned but we will still have fun because we are together. My DH would laugh because he would call (he does not do Disney) and ask what we were up to and I would say, the kids are playing on the playground. He just laughed that we went all the way to Disney and the kids wanted to play on a playground. It was new and exciting to them so we took 30 min out of our day to do it, they were happy, and that made me happy.

It's about 1.5 miles from Hollywood Studios.

AoA is at E-2a below.
However, its distance is not a problem for viewing high-in-the-sky fireworks from the parks.
Even with their great distance from each other, MK's fireworks can be seen from Epcot, and vice-versa.

We watched them from the bridge last year. You will see the high fireworks. Later in the trip we went to HS to see the fireworks up close, and they were amazing at the park.

I'm sure we will end up at a few of those to! I'm just kind of in panic mode because I don't know what I'm walking into. Its scary and exciting all at once.

Thank you everyone I appreciate all the responses now I have several options incase things don't go as planned which they never do!
