Hi! I've been a member of the DIS for around a month, maybe a little bit more, but let's just say I'm completely addicted!
Anyways, I haven't been to WDW since January of '05 which doesn't seem like THAT long but it's been over two years.
I am graduating from High School in 2 weeks, and I wanted to do something extra-special to celebrate it. My family just bought a new house and they have nooooo money right now, so asking them to take me to WDW for my grad present wasn't an option since it was too expensive, but I think I'm getting a laptop instead which will be equally nice
I can go on the DIS at college next year, haha!
So since asking my parents wasn't an option, I did the next best thing and called my very best friend! We've been best friends since I was 2 and she was 3 and we were neighbors. We even stayed friends when she moved to a different town in 4th grade.
We decided on WDW since we're both so young it is one of the few places that we can go to without our parents being there at all and still have a great time and not worry about transportation or being safe or anything.
We're both wicked broke, but we decided that we would just go for it anyways. Well, rather, I asked her, told her it would cost around $500
rolleyes1 ) and she said yes and before she could have time to have second thoughts, I booked us some flights for the dates we discussed, June 11-18! We originally wanted to go June 4th-11th, but didn't know if her brother would be getting married on the 2nd or 9th of June (it ended up being the 2nd
we should've waited until we knew for sure since he booked it like 2 days after we booked the flight, but oh well!)
Anyways, we booked this all in March, so it was SUPER last minute! My mom's friend charged it on his credit card for us and I've paid off most of my part from my waitressing job (only owe him $160 more on my part! She still owes $650...
)
Since she doesn't make as much money as me (waitressing is around $25 an hour after tips, and Dunkin' Donuts she gets $7.50 + tips, but the tips aren't really that much) I offered to pay for her park tickets so that we could definitely go! I reallllllllllly wanted to go to WDW, even enough so that my 17 year old self with my crappy job would give someone $300 to go to WDW hehe
Anyways, our trip is coming up in twenty days, and I couldn't be more excited!
AAA spelled my name a little bit wrong on our travel documents but the guy there told me not to worry about it since my friend, Tara is the one checking into the hotel because she is 18, and they only spelled my name a little wrong, Stepahnie instead of Stephanie...just mixed up the a and the h! I didn't book my flight through them so I'm not worried about it.
Here's the trip info we have so far! I've been a super crazy planner and have been reading the DIS religiously and digging up old threads and I subscribed to TGM and hopefully this all pays off since we're going in a busy season and don't want to get stuck waiting hours and hours, we want to see as much as we possibly can!
We're flying out of Logan on Jet Blue at 4pm on June 11th and it is going to Washington, DC and then it connects to a flight to MCO, and we should arrive by 9pm if all goes well. We didn't care about a connecting flight on the way there since we wanted to fly the day before just so that we didn't lose any time in the parks and had a nice rest before our first day
After we land, we're picking up our own luggage (after hearing some horror stories about REALLLLLLY late luggage
, we decided it was best for us to pick up our own luggage and THEN boarding the Magical Express bus, which will take us to All Star Music, the ONLY resort I've ever stayed at on WDW property, 5 times! I love it so much! We have a proffered room which is exciting because I LOVE the Calypso building and pool, which I HOPE isn't under refurbishment while we're there, but I only read that once so hopefully it isn't true!
We have the dining plan and park hopper tickets, and these our our ADRs:
June 12: Sci fi Dine in Theater at 1:30 pm
June 13: Le Cellier
at 7:50 pm
June 14: Boma at 6:20 pm
June 15: Les Chefs de France at 7:00 pm (might change this one for another character meal!)
June 16: Crystal Palace at 8:05 am
June 17: Narcoossee's at 8:45 PM, scheduled so that we can see the water pageant and wishes
I'm so excited and I bet that was waaaay to long to read, but I just can't help myself! I'll add more as we plan more! I hope to add a pre-vacation itinerary so that we can compare it to what we ACTUALLY do when we get home!
Tara is excited too-she went to WDW only once and we did all 4 parks in TWO days when I was in 7th grade and she was in 8th so she doesn't really remember it that well.
This is us! I'm the blonde one (Stephanie) and Tara is the brunette!
