Our trip is scheduled during the last star wars weekend. We are having difficulty landing on a day to visit hollywood studios as we cannot go on the recommended days due to other ADR/schedule conflicts that we are unwilling to change. So we are looking at picking a non-recommended day. We are considering going on Sunday. I have a 5 year old and 6 year old. They have seen star wars and may enjoy the atmosphere that day and star wars fireworks show. However- we will be there to ride the rides and not to stand in autograph lines. I have read that the ride lines aren't too bad except for Star tours so this makes me think go on Sunday. But some of the pics I have seen just to get into the park are ridiculous. Also wondering about moving around the park with the crowds. So what do you think- try a sunday and enjoy the star wars atmosphere while riding rides or try one of the other non-recommended days to avoid all the craziness?

We went on Sunday of the last SWW last year. DHS opens at 7:30 and there is a Stormtrooper show before everyone moves on.

As long as you FP the rides you want to do, you'll be fine. It's best to walk around the Streets of America in the late morning or early afternoon to see all the Star Wars characters roaming around. Take stickers or small trinkets with you to trade with Jawas.

The only important thing to remember is that TSMM and Great Movie Ride shut down at least an hour before the fireworks.

These two threads can help you find uncrowded areas to watch the fireworks, find specific characters, etc.

We went Memorial Day week 2014. First Star Wars weekend visit for us. I'm not really a fan and DH didn't necessarily care about meeting any of the guests doing appearances. We had a blast. Met Princess Leia and Darth Vader and a few random characters (that I don't even remember the name of - eewoks and other things? IDK) It was a blast! The fireworks are amazing! I want to go back. We did a character meal at H&V with Mickey and friends dressed up in Star Wars costumes. So fun. After we got home DH got DD and DS to watch the Star Wars movies so he was happy. LOL
